I'd patron a pathfinder conversion of shadow fay. I'm planning on converting it anyway myself! It would be great to have a great team working on that.

As a patron of the 4e Courts, I'd put it out there that I'd be slightly annoyed with a conversion, as part of the reason I bought into the 4th ed. version was due to my impression that the material wouldn't be available in any other format. Though after Halls, I don't know why I don't just expect such accomodation from the Kobolds yet.

I'd also put my money up for a conversion however; though hopefully as a 4th ed patron as well I'd get a discount or something.

Have any of you compared the 4E Imperial Gazetteer to the Pathfinder Imperial Gazetteer?

does it meet with approval?

because discussions have been in motion. This could be going. The Dark Overlord Publisher knows ...things. Wink

The only product i have in 4E as well as in 3E is
Halls of the Mountain King.
I declined on the second Imperial Gazetter.
I have one Freeport Companion, but i have the important Pirates Guide to Freeport.

The conversion of Halls of the Mountain King did not change the adventure unrecognizably, such that it would have lost the right to its title or that i would have been 'compelled' by new content to have the converted copy. (This is in contrast to my fears expressed above.)
I have the impression that the changes made were in the spirit of perfection, such as page 87 right hand column introducing a paragraph heading and revising the content to spoken words. That paragraph appears in the original on page 85 left column.
The interesting part was the conversion itself. A case study of the process.

A conversion of statistics-blocks-only should be playable alongside the original Courts of Shadow Fey. Is this comfortable at the table?

I would rather have a new project than a rehashing of old ground!

Is it possible and desired for future projects to have dual statistics (versions of D&D).

Dual statistics from the outset is ... daunting. I designed Roots of Madness with the conversion in mind, and I think it went well, and the conversion of the other portions was occasionally pretty tough. I don't know that you'd find a lot of designers who'd be up for the project, because it means a lot more time and effort, duplication of brainstorming, balancing of separate idea threads.

Personally, I'd rather see it go up as a single system at first, perhaps with the understanding that a conversion would happen, and then, have the conversion occur afterwards, or maybe concurrently with a co-designer. It'd be an interesting project.

I'm sure that if this conversion occurs, it won't be in lieu of a new project, but rather by a freelancer off the forums. The way the Imperial Gazetteer conversion was done. But I could be wrong. Maybe it'll be a first attempt at micropatronage, allowing the patrons to review the conversion material as it is generated, with very limited benefits.

So... Any word on the future of this idea? Like so many other folks here, I'd be interested in a 3.5/PF conversion. (And I'd like to think that my track record of buying into other Open Design projects proves my value as an actual customer, someone who is willing to put my money where my mouth is - despite the extremely unhygenic nature of that act.)

*oh the germs!*

But, more seriously, I'd really like to see a pathfinder version of this adventure. I will certainly become a patron of it.

*Puts money in mouth.*
