Do you like it when publishers make videos for their sites? Did you like the ones WotC did for 4e? What about this one, from Radiance House?

In addition to seeing them on the publisher's site, do you like watching videos on YouTube, blip.tv, etc? What are some of your favorite gaming videos?

More importantly, I suppose, do they ever influence your buying decision? Or are they just cool (or not so cool) eye candy, in your book?

I'm not a video person.

I watched one of the "Gnome and Tiefling" videos done by WotC, because I wanted to understand the "I'm a monster. Rawr!" meme that came from it.

I watched one of the video podcasts WotC did, because I wanted to see/hear what Wolfgang had to say.

I rarely pop onto Youtube to look for stuff. Sometimes I'll follow a link somebody else posts. Most of the time, I don't bother.

I'm willing to bet I'm atypical, though.

I tend to watch and enjoy the videos but I don't follow links to every one posted. Typically, I only follow links from either a site I respect (such as KQ) or friends who know my tastes and interests.

Some days I like the WotC videos and some days I don't.

My husband is particularly fond of the gnome and the tiefling episode, while I prefer the beholder one they did first.

They were decent, but not great.

They don't influence my purchasing decisions. I'm not really sure about the most recent one though.

Mmm, yeah. I did enjoy the D&D ones. I think videos fall far more into "promoting the brand and building market recognition" than into "direct sales tools encouraging me to buy".
