Hi all.

I'm a long time D&D player (AD&D, 3ed and 4ed right now) but I only recently discovered KQ and the store, I just bought Soldiers of Fortune.

I've read about several 4e adventures that were published but aside from Courts of the Shadow Fey I cant find any on the site, a little help pls?

The early days of Open Design had a much more private patronage policy. If you didn't join a project before it completed, you can't buy it after it is done. Most projects from now on will be sold publicly once completed. To get a copy of the early projects you need to buy a physical copy off a project patron.

Wrath of the River King is fairly difficult to acquire. I'm not certain how hard Halls of the Mountain King will be to get.

Lost City will be released soon (~2 months I believe) and will be available to the public.

That just too bad, I'm reading through Courts of the Shadow Fey and I'm loving it but it's just a little too high level for my group, I would love to get a copy of Halls of the Mountain King since it's seems like a very cool adventure.

I've been playing 4e for several years now and aside from HS1 the Slaying Stone, I haven't found an adventure that managed to combine the flavor and coolness from my AD&D days with the mechanics of 4ed but Courts of the Shadow Fey just blow me away.

It seems like a bit of a waste to not offer the older adventures for sell, I realise that patronage is a bit like commissioning a book but still what's the point of letting only few people enjoy it?

Thanks for the replies guys, btw where can I find more info on Zobek? and is there a colored version of Courts of the Shadow Fey?

The closed/open project debate is as old as Open Design. I agree that sharing projects is better, and Wolfgang has moved in that direction as well. I believe all projects going forward are going to be open to the public.

However, Wolfgang is committed to honoring his agreement with past patrons of exclusive projects. So for those you have to ask patrons if they are willing to sell a copy.

I also agree that Open Design makes the most creative projects in the industry. That's why I've been a patron for most projects (and all the exclusive ones) since I discovered Tales of Zobeck.
