I've been reading the forums here, and people keep mentioning something called "GSL", but nobody says what it IS.
I'm an old-timer, not used to the new-fangled stuff you kids are doing with role-playing games these days. Is GSL something good that I should be happy about, or something bad that I should avoid? I tried looking it up on Google, but that only showed me stuff like "GNU Scientific Library" and "Greater Spokane League".
Should I be checking under my bed to see if GSL is slowing infiltrating my dust-bunny collection? If too much GSL accumulates in my house will it hurt me? If I'm hospitalized because of GSL, will my insurance still company cover me?
I'm getting really nostalgic for 1st edition - at least I understood all the acronyms there...  |

That was funny!
Gaming System License.
It's what the OGL (Open Game License in 3E) has become with 4E (sort of - we are speaking ''legalese'' here).
From what I have read (please don't quote me as I am sticking with 3E so am not an expert), it is the OGL of 4E without any of the advantages for third party publishers. It affects businesses not players (at least not directly, but that's another topic).
I'm sure you can find some threads here somewhere. I hope that helps out!
