Well hellooooo, everybody.

Anyway, it's been one year since me and Joe started Dungeons and Drawings, created with the intention of not letting our artistic muscles soften during periods of unemployment. We've celebrated our anniversary by drawing some gods of the Greyhawk pantheon. Here's Pelor, the Shining One, patron of the sun, healing and goodness, rising in the morning and dispelling night. And here's Wee Jas, the Witch Queen, goddess of death and the arcane, roiling in the primordial womb of magic.

We tried to do something a little more abstract with these gods. Me and Joe think that gods should be illustrated with a degree of abstraction, if not full abstraction. Something that shows that they're not human, or anything else for that matter.

Wait, what's that? You say we've also hit our 100th post? Well, I think we're gonna have to do something about that.

Nice work guys, I really like Pelor here. I have an acquaintance who works with stained glass and I can easily visualize this work in that medium. Beautiful.

I think Wee Jas looks totally hot, but I'm weird like that.

And from now on, August of 2011 shall be hereby known as DRAGON MONTH, as a celebration of 100 artwork posts on Dungeons and Drawings. Every week, we shall post two dragons, re-imagined. The first two to recieve the treatment are the Gold Dragon and Green Dragon. More of these fellas to come in the next few weeks.

I REALLY like the Pelor you guys did. Very Happy

So much so, I'm wondering if you take commissions and how much they are, since I'm actually trying to do a little private campaign world of my own for fun at the moment, and love that "this is not just some superpowerful guy, this is an actual POWER THAT IS" feel that pic gets across much better than most other portrayals. If I put together a pantheon, think you could give them all the divine don't-look-directly-at-them kind of treatment you gave Pelor? Smile

(and how much would that cost? I'm thinking about 8-10 different deities/forces. At absolute most 12, but much more likely 8-10. If I have the money to spare, that is.)

In other news, I am back! Whee!

More dragons! I did the Black Dragon, a classic, Joe went for something more obscure, drawing something from the Fiend Folio (which seems to rapidly be turning into a favourite), the Sunwyrm, a Sleipnir-like dragon with the power to turn into sunlight.

I managed to get something a little bit more original with the Black Dragon, instead of going full-on reptilian. If you look at the references I used, you can see I went from abyssal fish/crocodile/goat to Inuit masks. Credit for that kinda comes from Joe, since a while ago he did a university project that involved a dragon-like monster with a man-face. I also did a little bit more work on the Green Dragon, since I felt it was unfinished.

@Cerunnos: PM me with details of exactly what you'd like me to draw and I'll give you a fee. It kinda depends on how much time it'll take me/how difficult everything is.

@ Chad: I think your email password's been phished or something. I've gotten a couple of sketchy emails from you.

Well guess who's reached the end of Dragon "Month". Yes, it seems we've finally managed it. We've been so incredibly busy this past couple of months with really draining freelance work. And with the conclusion of this, I've started putting up polls again, to decide what the next monster will be. So go vote!

So Joe's officially bowed out, deciding to dedicate himself to some other projects, though he might still do something for the blog every now and then. His parting gifts were the Hidecarved Dragon (a dragon PC prestige class) and Bahamut the Platinum Dragon, God of good dragons.

My contributions were the Yu Lung dragon from the Oriental Adventures setting and Tiamat, one of D&D's better known gods, the Queen of evil dragons.

Results of last week's poll determined that the character was male and a member of a small, shunned race. Therefore, the creature for the week is a Hybsil who goes by the name of Buck.

This marks the beginning of Buck's story. Using the polls, you will decide what path Buck takes as he enters life as an adventurer. This week, you'll help determine what class he is, and who he's been taking his training from. So go and vote and help further Buck's story.

There doesn't seem to be an option for "monk"... >_>

Well, technically that'd fall under "fighter", since nature warrior would include druid, scout and ranger, and arcane savant includes sorcerer and wizard.

I figured that'd make it just the class of "Fighter". Razz

But okay, thanks.

First of all, Dungeons and Drawings now has an official facebook page. Meaning that those of you who don't come to these forums that often or don't really used blogger very much can now follow that page for updates as they come.

Secondly, the winner of the poll to determine Buck's class was arcane savant. You are now Buck, Hybsil sorcerer! One of your most useful spells is summon monster I, which you use to call your trustworthy celestial fire beetle.

You've completed the very basics of your training and you're almost ready to go out into the world and face adventure. But first, your tribe has to give you a test, to prove your worth to go leave the safety of your native land. But which test will you take? Go vote on the new poll to determine the next part of Buck's story!

Gold beetles! Gold beetles everywhere!

Looks like I'm gonna be late for Dungeons & Drawings this week. HOWEVER, I will not be late for the London Comic Con this weekend. On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of October, me and Joe will be there, under the name of Omnipathy comics. We'll be selling Dungeons & Drawings related goods, as well as original artwork by Joe, including an Joe's comic Omnipathy #1. If any of y'all are in London that weekend, come on down.

You should totally vote on this year's Dungeons & Drawings halloween horror poll. Pick your favourite horror subgenre and ye shall receive!

Awesome! I wish I could attend, but congrats on jumping into the show. Maybe I can buy a print or original online after the fact. I've got my eye on a couple....

Thanks Wolfgang! This is our first buying-a-table-and-sitting-there event, so we've been a bit conservative with how much stuff we've got for sale this time. We're definitely gonna sell of any surplus online, and depending how much stuff we print, we'll expand into more stuff. It should be fun though.
