I've only recently started running published adventures, but I'd have to say that Burnt Offerings (Pathfinder #1) was a complete and total blast. Good set up, lots of action and plenty of challenging and creative encounters.

I liked Burnt Offerings. From the 3E world, there is Hamlet of Thumble, by Ed Cha. Nostalgia however compels me to mention L1: Secret of Bone Hill* and B1: Keep on the Borderlands.

*I DMed it twice (over 20 years ago) before I stopped running other people's adventures and started raiding them for useful bits.

I like The Skullcrackers.

But I'll admit I'm a wee bit biased. Wink

Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh. In fact, the town has always had a place in my campaign world. I've started numerous parties there; and almost all of them have paid a visit to a certain haunted house...

Escape from Meenlock Prison and Box of Flumph from Dungeon were fantastic.

You should point people to issue numbers then. Box of Flumph sounds intriguing; the internet tells me it is in Dungeon 118. The other appears to be from Dungeon 146. Both seem to be available over at Paizo, one in print, the older in PDF.

Against the Cult of the Reptile God was a great starter...

The Cult of the Reptile God is probably my favorite too. Also love the Saltmarsh series.
Does The Lost City start at first level? That was my first gaming experience waaaay back in '83.

Lost City was a B module, and they were all intended for levels 1-3. I used to have the old B1-9 collection, it was my first set of adventures and I know most of them far too well. Probably not as good as I remember, but very classic.

Tegel Manor by Judges Guild. It wasn’t just a haunted house stuffed with undead. It made the players deal with a lot of events that didn’t necessarily lead to combat. Candles that would go out (or light themselves) at odd moments, the sound of footsteps on the staircase, words written in blood that would be gone (or changed) the next time the players looked at them… Of course, the players had to be careful of everything because they never knew for sure what was just a harmless haunting and what might be an important clue or prelude to serious combat.

Come to think of it, its about time for my current group to encounter a bat-winged skull flying around the local graveyard shrieking what might (or might not) be an important prophecy.

Gotta love those bat-winged skulls!

So, I found this encounter on a website earlier today and used it in my game this afternoon. It was a blast, and I was wondering if anyone knows of other sites with little one-offs like this. I like taking ideas like these and weaving them into bigger plots.

I hate not being original, but I'd throw my two coppers down for Saltmarsh as well.
