| So... KQ-Con, or maybe OD-Con? Would this be "members only", or open to the public? |
Whoa! I thought this was an awards show kinda thing. A youtube acceptance speech montage kind of thing or simply the KQCourier delivering candidates, forum voting, and a blog announcement for winners. If we did it the Kobold-Con route we probably want to attach ourselves to a larger one as an event. I do know a guy if thats the case though. _________________ Roachling avatar pic drawn by Alexandra Douglass.

Yeah, I thought of this as mostly some awards done with a little humor.
If someone wants to start a convention, huzzah! But the kobolds are sort of maxed out, so it would need to be a homegrown effort by a new person. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Kobold Con? Someday I hope. Awards show? Definitely! Let me know if I can be of any help getting things together. I'm also an experienced public speaker and even a Master of Ceremonies. Consider me available for whatever is needed! _________________ Kobold Minion #66

Why not add some OD/KQ specific get-togethers around existing cons (PaizoCOn or Gen Con)? At least to start. Maybe these are happening already? _________________ Ben Armitage |

There's always a patron meetup before Gen Con, and sometimes a patron beer/dinner thing at PaizoCon. I rather enjoy them, and I hope we continue to do them.
Beyond those two shows, it's spotty, but there's no reason not to organize one. I'd be happy to give a patron meetup a mention in the Courier or on the KQ FB page or the like. Origins or PAX East, maybe? _________________ Wolfgang Baur

How come nobody ever mentions DragonCon? Its big, its fun, and... (most important from my point of view) its the only con I get to regularly attend! |

I used to attend, back in the 90s, but my impression is that it is a media con more than a gaming con. Since my impression is 13 years out of date, maybe its time to reconsider.
Anyone else want to put together a meetup at DragonCon? _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I was there in 2009. I'm a hardcore gamer, and I didn't game once at the con. Instead, I sat in on many of the writer's tracks to see what the cool authors had to say. Got to have dinner with Sherrilyn Kenyon and play minion to her minions.
I love the show, but, basically, there's way too much going on at D*C. It's not conducive to meetups. That being said, there is a *slight* chance I'll be attending the show with NYT bestselling fantasy author Faith Hunter, since we should have a game out together by then. We'll see. _________________ Christina Stiles

True, there is a lot going on in addition to gaming, and with so many people spread across so many hotels, meetups are not easy.
However, if you plan to be there in 2012, let me know. We could become the core around which we will build an OD gathering. Kobold Minions unite! DragonCon is ours for the taking! |

You got the right idea PW, although the puppy dog ears on Mr. Jackson's creation kinda throw it off for me. _________________ Kobold Minion #66

Claiming this back from the threadjack-- I'd be interested to hear how Grandmother's Fire plays. Feel free to post here or shoot me a PM to let me know.
