That took forever, but I'm finally relocated in Austin (still awaiting the arrival of our furniture, but hey...). I'm up north near Parmer/Metric, and I'm having a bit more trouble finding a group with an open slot than I thought I would've.
This might not be the right place to post this, and feel free to delete it if it isn't, but I'm basically one kobold LFG in Austin, and might have an extra player to bring along if needed ( or if there's room) as well. I may eventually want to run something, but I have to wait for the bulk of my books to do that, along with the aforementioned furniture.
p.s. I finally had the experience of walking into a game store (Dragon's Lair on Burnet) and seeing something on the actual shelf that had stuff in it that I'd contributed (Northlands). I think I may have levitated. |

Touch base with Adam Daigle & Brandon Hodge. As far as I know, they have lived there all their lives and know everybody and everything worth knowing down there.....and visit Brandon's stores while you are at it....worth the trip!: Big Top Candy Shop and Monkey See, Monkey Do.
Congrats on a safe and successful move to Austin! ::jealous:: _________________ Adam W. Roy

Congrats on the move!
If you want an online tools for connecting with local gamers, the big one I know is Pen & Paper Games. Filters by locale, game system, etc. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I used to live right by Parmer and Metric (off of Lamplight Village), and the HEB on Parmer and 35 is still the grocery store I use from my home. ^_^
Dragon's Lair is a pretty nifty store. Head up 35 to Round Rock (exit 251, on the right) and you can find Rogue's Gallery as well. It's smaller, but the people there are nice as well.
I might know some folks. What kind of game are ya looking for, at what kinds of times?
If you want to get started searching online, Pen & Paper Games has a decent database. Obsidian Portal and ENWorld both also have game and player trackers.
There's an active Pathfinder Society contingent in the area, and the local Venture-Captain is Dave Woodfin. If you search for NAPS (North Austin Pathfinder Society) on Yahoo Groups, that mailing list has all of those people involved and their scheduled games.
Hodge's store are cool and well worth looking visiting/buying stuff. ^_^ _________________ -Carlos Ovalle |

You said it Master! Austin, Harris? Austin!? I only WISH I could move to Austin and game with Brandon Hodge and Adam Daigle. Plus lower taxes and a good economy. I too am totally jealous! You got it made in the shade! _________________ Kobold Minion #66

Wow, thanks for all of the info and leads, folks! I'll definitely contact Mr. Woodfin about PFS, and I'm signed up on Penandpaper and Obsidian Portal now.
I'm going to check out Rogues' Gallery soon. That's the second recommendation I've heard for it, so they must have something going on:) I love that H.E.B., by the way. I'd been searching for carne guisada in AZ for almost 15 years to no avail, then I walk in there and find the meat ready to go on the shelf, sauce and all. The things my girlfriend had to talk me out of in there...
Oh! Game-wise I'm up for most things. Certainly for Pathfinder (and Midgard if it's available. If not I might run it myself before long). I've been devouring the books for Eclipse Phase lately as well, (which has some fantastic short fiction in it, btw). I've also been reading up on Savage Worlds Deluxe and Deadlands, which looks fantastic. I've never played any superpowered rpgs but they've always sounded fun as I was raised on 70s-80s Marvel.
I'm still showing my girlfriend the lay of the land out here, so I'll definitely include stops at Mr. Hodge's shops! As for gaming with them, I'd imagine they're probably booked up pretty good, but if there's ever a spot open I'd bring the whatever's-called-for:)
I'll be getting back to a bit more of an active status here in about a week, once our internet is hooked up and our furniture arrives (!). Looking forward to it. I miss this place! |

And, of course, hit the Alamo Drafthouse whenever possible. ^_^
I know someone a great GM running a Savage Worlds-based campaign. I'm not sure if he has any openings this second, but I'll see if I can introduce y'all some time, virtually or not. He does do open one-shots every now and then, and although it's been a long, long while since I've attended, it is a good way to meet local gamers that you might not otherwise ever see.
If you like Mexican, I know of some decent places.... ^_^ _________________ -Carlos Ovalle |

Thanks again, everyone, for the tips! Looks like I'm meeting up with someone tomorrow to talk games over and merging my two people with her three into a functioning group! Looks like I might be the one GMing if we do PF, but I need the practice, so that works.
Carlos- I LOVE Mexican food, and my list is severely outdated. Any pointers are greatly appreciated! |

Welcome back to town!
I know I talked to you at the last PaizoCon about your move from the dusty desert to the promised land of Austin, so I'm glad to see that all worked out.
Shoot me an email and we can grab lunch or drinks or something. |

Heh, Harris, you'll be in one more PF game than I am at the moment!
I will start a list. ^^ _________________ -Carlos Ovalle |

Ehh, no problem. I live in California's central valley. We call July through August "Pizza Oven Days". Temperatures exceed F 100 for over five weeks. But at least its a dry heat... _________________ Kobold Minion #66

Ours isn't, especially in Austin, then there's the fact that the weather can go from freezing to blazing in a day and there's even mixtures of it that aren't supposed to happen too, like lightning during snow. Harris make sure you've got a good battery in your car and solar screens (I don't mean bug screens) on your home's windows. Other than that, Welcome to Texas! _________________ Roachling avatar pic drawn by Alexandra Douglass.

| Thank you, suh! I'm originally from the Corpus Christi area, so it's more a question of RE-acclimating, but that's all good advice! I'd forgotten about the costume changes! |
