I'm interested in joining up, but its looking like the main setting book may almost be completed. Is it still worth it to sign up as a patron? What other projects will I have access to with it?
Just curious, as I am loving what bits I have seen so far.
Thanks in advance for any information. |

Good question, and thanks for asking! It is still possible to sign up as a patron, though you are correct that the design is done.
At this point you are guaranteeing your name appears in the book, and you also get a copy of the final, unedited manuscript of the setting many months before it is printed, bound, and shipped to the public. Also, as a patron, you have the option of getting one of the limited edition hardcovers.
So... There's still reasons to sign up, but it's much less an active project now than it was in 2011. Though I think the editor would disagree with me about that. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Thanks for the quick response!
I appreciate the confirmation of my suspicions, but I may still sign up anyway. It would be neat to go back a read how things progressed over last year.
Anyway, thanks again, and I very much look forward to more projects! |

BTW, any word on upcoming projects, or do I need to already be a patron for that info?
Just curious. It would be neat to start from the ground floor on one of these things! |

As it happens, there's some discussion and voting behind the scenes right now as some of the patrons and I are figuring out what the next Open Design project will be.
I expect it will be announced in the Spring, but it's not clear yet just what it will be. I'll definitely make some noise about it when we launch it! _________________ Wolfgang Baur

One more quick question before I take the plunge:
Regarding the world map, is it a "world" (as in global view) map or the section of globe where the setting begins?
Just curious. Thanks in advance for any replies. I'd like to buy in, but with the process pretty much wrapped up for the setting guide, I'm debating whether if I should just wait until the dead tree version is released later this year.
Thanks again! |

The world map is about 2 years out of date, so I wouldn't get too invested in that version; it is a regional-only map. A new map will be included with the final release, and possibly a global map as well. _________________ Wolfgang Baur
