I just got the mail to vote on the next ODs and as patron for the Campaign Setting, Dark Roads & Golden Halls and Journeys to the West I wanted to know whether I could vote multiple times/whether my voting counts different etc. I'm not going to vote multiple times and exploit the system, it's just something that would interest me.
Cheers,
EZG |

I'm so curious about this too! If one person votes for three, another for one, and someone else votes for all 19, how are the votes weighted? I'm not interested in exploiting the system either, but I'd like to avoid abusing it by accident!!! _________________ einherjar/Oceanshieldwolf/Morgan Boehringer

I imagine all of that is happening, someone voting a few, another voting a lot. I think it all works out in the end because even with multiple choices per voter, one specific project is still going to come out on top with the most.
Also, it asked me for my forum name during my vote, so I imagine that would discourage multiple votes based on multiple patronages, unless someone was really 3 different handles with 3 separate patronages to give the illusion of different people, in which case... *backs away slowly* |

Paramo is correct: everyone gets one vote if they are a patron on an active project. If you are a patron on multiples I suppose I could weight it, but what I am really after is what gets people's gaming instincts going. Most of the time, that is pretty clear.
As to how many pitches to choose, I would say give your support only to pitches you really would back as a patron. Voting for a "good idea, but not for me" sort of defeats the goal.
Oh, and so far there are already some surprises, but the top 4 are all separated by 1 or two votes. It is great to have such a strong field. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I'm a Midgard patron but I did not get a ballot. Is it 'cause I'm just a summoned monster? _________________ Kobold Minion #66

Sorry, should have said the senior patrons all have it in their forum and got an email about it as well. Clearly I was not that clear; apologies for any confusion.
And summoned monsters, well, you know. They are treated so poorly by most adventuring parties, I gotta say. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

See, this is why the summoned monsters need better PR.
Or maybe a Patron Devil of Magically Maligned Monsters. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Okay, an infernal patron could be a benefit. But I'll never join a union! Actually, I'm taking night classes and one day I hope to become a summoned gamer ally! _________________ Kobold Minion #66

James, perhaps this will help you become a summoned gamer ally!
Draft version submitted for your approval.
Call Gamer Ally
Conjuration(Summoning)
Spell Level: Bard 3, Sorcerer/Wizard 6
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Components: V,S,F,M
Duration: 1 session/ 2 caster levels
Saving Throw: none SR:No
This spells summons 1 level 10 gamer or d3 level 6 gamers. Gamers are characters with levels in the Expert npc class except that at least two class skills must be Hobby(specific game system). Gamers appear with any equipment they may require (always one set of dice, usually one backpack full of books and a tablet or laptop loaded with more material, and sometimes a personal collection of minis and other gaming enhancements).
The summoned gamers can perform Aid Other actions to increase your own roleplaying or tactics, usually in the form of referencing material you weren't aware of or sharing stories of old characters. The summon gamer can also create a character of his own and join the game with GM's permission. When the spells duration ends all gamers and gaming material they might have brought disappear. Any characters that were made that did not appear with the gamers revert to GM's control and might betray the party.
The same gamer can be called again, but this requires another casting of this spell. The material the gamer arrives with may be different with each casting. The material component must be given over to the gamer on arrival, but he or she usually shares.
material components: Snacks, Soda, and one meal per session (about 10 dollars or gold pieces per session). Focus: phone.
Call Gamer Ally, Greater
Spell Level: Bard 5, Sorcerer/Wizard 17
As Call Gamer Ally but summons a level 21 gamer. This gamer will be especially notable, usually having several design credits. If one is not specified during casting then use Wolfgang Baur or the author of the top post at KoboldQuarterly.com
Be Aware. This gamer will be epic and your game may not be prepared for his effects.
material components: As before but add the cost of a plane ticket. Check rates. |

Hi,
I am not a senior patron, and yes the begining of this thread made me verify my emails a couple of times!
I have a question: When do we hear about this new project? Not that I have incredible amounts of money, but somehow Wolfgang always manges to get it from me!
A suggestion: No idea what the pitches were for the next projects, but here are some of my (free) thoughts, make of them what you will...
With Midgard growing, the Campaign setting coming out this year... Where do we want our dventures to go? Obviously, we may want to leave Zobeck. And as much as it would sadden me, I can see this happening...
If I may, one of Zobeck's strengths has been its ''openness'' (no pun intended) to being transplanted to another setting. I have used it in Ravenloft for a few years. Now I'm integrating adventures, clockwork and NPCs into my Ptolus game. Please somehow keep this in mind if it's possible. So adv like Tof Old Margreave or Urban adv are great.
I know we've had Empire of the Ghouls, but maybe some other parts of the UnderEarth? (Easily moved to any setting.) Or maybe define some more of Zobeck's subterrean world as a ''first'' go with the CS? Or just continue as is, cos the setting seems to be doing very well! If it ain't broke and all that...
So that's quite a bit of rambling from me and I know I've mentionned this before but let's try to keep Zobeck / Midgard as accessible as possible to everyone!

Very amusing! Thanks Neostrider!
The backstory is this: MightyMongo invited me to be a patron on the Midgard Project. I told him I wanted to participate but I just didn't have the gaming $$ to join up. He sponsored me and for that I'm in his debt! Thus I became his summoned monster. _________________ Kobold Minion #66

That is definitely the plan. Some of the proposed projects are Midgard fantasy that could go in any homebrew campaign, others are not Midgard, and still others are more rules crunch than adventures. I'll have an announcement on this in April. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

| How soon will we see the results of the voting? I would be interested in seeing the spread of votes and get an idea of the sort of material people are interested in. |
