I noticed alot of 3.x materials going for pretty good prices on ebay EXCEPT the ones I want to sell there (Eberron CS, FRCS, etc.)

Looks like the core books are doing pretty well.

My wife regularly purchases me gaming-related stuff on eBay for Christmas. As far as I know, she's never had a problem with shipping, and everything I've been given has been in perfectly good condition. You could talk to her this weekend when you come over, Tim, about what she looks for and that sort of thing.

Thanks John, I will do that.

BTW, has anyone else had a problem with logging on. Both yesterday and today, I had a heck of a time being able to logon. It sent me to a different screen then I usually get.

I tried a few things, and updated by account information, but I still had trouble. I am on now (and able to post), but don't know if I will have problems again the next time I try to logon. -- Just wondering if it's just me?

I've been having trouble the last couple of days as well.

Clicking the login button the first time seems to do nothing. Clicking it a second time takes me to the store (and logs me in there). Going back to the forums, I show as logged at still.

The only way I've found to get around it is to click on "log out" while on the store page, then come back to the forum and log in again.

My apologies. That would be my tinkering. I am done now and it should address some problems folks were having in the past, especially new accounts. However, as noted, existing members may have problems, specifically by being logged into the store but not the forums. As you noted, logout at the store (this resets your cookies and the db) and then you should be able to login in again and everything should work.

If problems still persist, try deleting your cookies for koboldquarterly.com.

If they still still persist, contact me or Wolfgang.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Bill

Howdy, Bill. Thanks for chiming in.

Could you elaborate, please, on what you mean by "If they still still persist"? I had the problem yesterday and today. Does that count as persisting? Or do you mean from this point forward?

It happened to me while I was making my reply.
But if it happens again I'll let you know.

Well, I was making changes as late as last night so...you might still have troubles today. So, tray logging out (I assume you are able to login since you posted Wink) and log back in.

The browsers we have tested on are IE 5,6, Netscape 9.0.0.5, Firefox 2 & 3, Opera 9.0.2. Safari and IE 7 might be a bit touchy depending on security settings (mainly around cookies and scripting). We have also had problems with ad/spam/popup blockers so make sure they are cleared for this site.

Let me know if the problems persist.

hmm, maybe we should move this to a new thread in OT?

I had the same thought. Wink

I'll log out and log back in and report the results.

Seems to be OK. here's what I did, just in case it'll help others.

  1. At the top left of the forum is a link to log out. I clicked on that. Doing so took me to what appeared to be a store page, telling me my log out was successful.
  2. I removed all my cookies having to do with the site. I use Firefox, so this is pretty easy for me. To do this in Firefox 2:
    1. Tools -> Options
    2. Select the Privacy tab, then click the "Show Cookies" button
    3. In the Search section, type koboldquarterly
    4. Select all the cookies that come up and click the "Remove Cookies" button in the bottom left of the window

  3. Went back to koboldquarterly.com and clicked the "Forum" link up at the top
  4. Logged back in

Thanks, Bill!

New Theory... Maybe 4e is selling so badly Wizards is buying up 3.5 stock to force a transition. Anyone have any idea what happened with this?

I was under the impression that 4e was selling rather well. The thought of WotC buying back 3.5 books is amusing to me but I suppose stranger things have happened.

Hmm, I wonder if I can get some dollars for the 3.5 advanced copies sent out to publishers before its release...?

Apparently Microsoft uses a similar tactic when they take over other software businesses. Buying up outstanding copies of the software's older versions so that people are forced to buy their new one. Just a thought.
