| I was just wondering how playtesting is conducted for Open Design projects? Do people get their own gaming groups to run portions of the adventure? Is it all done by patrons? In person? Over the internet? |

It's done both by the designers and by patrons; for instance, I ran an internal playtest for Wrath of the River King, and we also had patron groups testing (they're listed in the credits).
We've tried setting up groups for internet playtest. Hasn't worked so far, but that doesn't mean we'll stop trying.
For Halls of the Mountain King, we still have some designing to do first... _________________ Wolfgang Baur

| I've actually been constructing some completely home-made adventures for my group lately and am not sure if they're appropriate in terms of challenge level. It lead me to wondering how I could test the scenario without having my group playtest it. |

Test it at a convention, or take it to a local game shop and see if there's a group there to playtest with.
Or find an online group, though that presents its own challenges. _________________ Wolfgang Baur
