What trip to town for supplies or adventure tips is complete without a jovial barkeep, intense merchant, reckless noble, or other colorful townsfolk to spice up the break from danger? Memorable Townsfolk offers a dozen such individuals to breathe life into the world outside the dungeon depths, from an affectionate evangelist to a paranoid innkeeper to a gambling-addicted fortune-teller. In addition, this product offers new tables to randomly generate ideas for your own memorable townsfolk.
But what are townsfolk without a town to live their lives in? Also included are four sample settlements: a frontier outpost near the savage orcish territories, a semi-permanent halfling encampment which could pop up just about anywhere, a secluded elven enclave meant to keep the rest of the world and its dangers at bay, and a small town built around a growing bard college. Each provides a home for one or more of the sample NPCs and has its own stories that can either draw a party of heroes in or simply provide an ongoing background story.
