So I'm trying to get all of my Open Design PDF's into proper order and realized that I have totally forgotten the order in which they were published. I'm posting my rough list here so other patrons can hopefully help me get it sorted out:

OD 01 Steam & Brass
OD 02 Castle Shadowcrag
OD 03 Empire of the Ghould
OD 04 Six Arabian Nights
OD 05 Blood of the Gorgon
OD 06 Wrath of the River King
OD 07 Tales of Zobeck
OD 08 Halls of the Mountain King
OD 09 Courts of the Shadow Fey
OD 10 The Red Eye of Azathoth?
OD 11 Sunken Empires?
OD 12 Tales of the Old Margreve
OD 13 The Northlands?
OD 14 Streets of Zobeck
OD 15 Lost City
OD 16 Dark Deed in Freeport?
OD 17 Midgard Campaign Setting?
OD 18 Dark Roads and Golden Hells
OD 19 Journeys to the West
OD 20 Midgard Tales

Are there any projects I forgot? Is the order correct? Holy crap, there have been 20 OD projects so far.

Thanks

That is very cool. I have to run, but want to point out that for Publication Date, there's a cool line at the bottom of each release in the Kobold Store:

For Sunken Empires, for instance, we learn "This product was added to our catalog on Sunday 16 May, 2010."

What, you want me to do more research Wolfgang? Shocked I actually just started looking through my order history, but I have a feeling your suggestion will be more accurate. My only concern is that the green light date and the actual publication date may not match up, i.e. a latter project was published ahead of prior project (The Red Eye of Azathoth and Dark Deeds in Freeport fall into this category).

Huh! I was just writing up one of these.

Very similar to my list, but I've sorted them by announcement date. It's not as prettily formatted. I was going to add D&D version as well, but I can't get a formatted table.

Wrath, I treat specially because it had 4ED growing pains.

OD 1 Steam & Brass
OD 2 Castle Shadowcrag
OD 3 Empire of the Ghould
OD 4 Six Arabian Nights
OD 5 Blood of the Gorgon
OD 6 Tales of Zobeck
OD 7 Halls of the Mountain King
OD 8 From Shore to Sea/Sunken Empires
OD 9 The Red Eye of Azathoth
OD 10 Courts of the Shadow Fey
OD 11 Tales of the Old Margreve
OD 12 The Northlands
OD 13 Streets of Zobeck
OD 14 Lost City
OD 15 Dark Deed in Freeport
OD 16 Midgard Campaign Setting?
OD 17 Dark Roads and Golden Hells
OD 18 Journeys to the West
OD 19 Midgard Tales

OD 4ED Wrath of the River King

Hm. Shouldn't Courts of the Shadow Fey and Lost City also get the 4ED tag, then?

I'm not sure why Wrath is unlike those two.

'Cause Wrath wasn't a normal solicitation, like the previous Live Journal Open Design products. It was more, "Hey, I'm gonna try this 4ED thing. Wanna donate? Whatever you can spare."

There wasn't a set membership price. There was *a lot* of trepidation about the GSL. *I* think the outcome was brilliant. I'd give my wisdom teeth (all 6!) for an OGL version of Wrath and Courts!

NOTE: I'm conjuring from memory here; I haven't been able dig back through the old LJ posts. I might be misremembering.

No, you are right, the solicitation was quite different, and the GSL was a strange new thing at the time.

A Pathfinder version of Courts is not out of the question: people keep asking for it, and it's currently in the KQ store as a preorder item. Ship date is TBD.

I'd add in the original Zobeck Gazetteer, the 4E version of Halls of the Mountain-King, Dwarves of the Ironcrags and the Iron Gazetteer. They may have been bundled with other projects, but they were separate volumes.

Those weren't really Open Design projects, though. They were based on or partnered with some OD projects, but were availabled to everyone, not just patrons.

Admittedly, the everybody/patrons distinction means a lot less than it used to.

I'm sticking with the greenlight, a.k.a. funding date for my list as I feel it most accurately represents the chronology of the Open Design projects (as Courts was one of the first pitches, but took multiple pitches to get greenlighted). I'm also keeping Wrath where it is at in the list as well, even though it didn't follow the same selection process as its predecessor projects (it could actually be viewed as the forerunner to the current OD project method of ransoming via Kickstarter). I'll look into including the associated books, but I agree with Thorr-kan If I do, they would be tagged as OD 7.1 Dwarves of the Ironcrags for example.

From my POV, the proper order for the patron-exclusive era of OD projects is the order when I sent the layout files to Wolfgang, so all those associated books count...even if that does mean Steam & Brass ends up coming in after Blood of the Gorgon! Laughing

Wow Brette - quite a collection! I hope you submitted a pic for the Continental Kobold challenge utilising at least one of those! What a connoisseur and what a patron!
