Jade Regent went pretty well yesterday. Jess fed us and GM'ed the game. I am playing a Life Oracle. I chose to have the variant channel ability of Protection. That allows me to channel energy for half the normal healing but also gives a +1 to AC for everyone within 30 feet. Came in handy a couple of times, was able to keep fighters on their feet. Only problem I see is that there is no way to exclude enemies from getting benefits. According to HeroLab an Oracle does not qualify for Selective Channel.

Happy (?) Monday!
I finally saw the Avengers yesterday. One of the better superhero comic-book adaptions I have seen (I am not a big supes comix fan-I prefer fantasy/post-apocalypse/weird ones)
Harvesting my gourds today. A decent selection for Fall decorating.
On the down side, I have discovered a rodent infestation somewhere in my back yard. Not pleased at all ... |

Ugh. I'd rather have the rodents =P
Ah well, the battle goes on. I think that there wont be too many more left. I got several already with traps. I think they are coming over from the abandoned farm I live next to.
Well, crunch day for my butterfrog. Time to hit MSword where it lives. |

Happy Tuesday evening all
Well, my writing efforts are coming along. I hope to have my project finished by tomorrow
I got to (briefly) introduce a mimir into my PbP. I always wanted to use one.
Spent a lot of today trimming back unruly blackberries. Anyone who says that nature doesn't have a spirit never wrestled with an angry patch of blackberries. I am coveted in scratches. It wasn't enjoying the haircut. |

Blackberries are the bane of the Pacific NW. They are everywhere. I'm told there's a gentleman around here who rents out goats to eat the things if you've got an especially large briar patch. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Yes blackberry is a plague here in Oz too, though a very aggressive, scratchy, yummy-berry-bearing one. Happily some folk champion them as perfect for stabilising damaged creek sides - we have a lot of riverbanks denuded by tree-hating cattle-graziers. The damage to riparian zones from choking infestations of willow and blackberry is incredible.
In game-terms I've often likened blackberry to a hydra - cut one head and two will grow back. Plant-trait hydra with bleed inducing mild poison thorns... |

*sigh*
I have no one to blame but myself. I planted the first blackberry cane eight years ago, before I realized just how much of a price I would pay for the occasional summer berry. I also have golden raspberries, they taste much nicer, and also are much more respectful of their proper place. Fortunately, I did have enough smarts to plant my canes on the edge of my property.
My secondary PbP in Sigil is meeting Alluvius Ruskin today. I am eager to see what the scowling half-orc barbarian and oversexed bard think of her.
Well, time to get some more work done. A smelly diaper and some trash await me. fare thee well OD FAWTLiers! |

Will continue Jade Regent this Sunday. Stopped in the middle of battling a Goblin compound. Nearly had a TPK. My Wednesday group meets this coming Wednesday for continuation of Tales of the Old Margreve.
Trying to generate interest in starting a Friday evening group at a FLGS. So far no luck. |

Alas, I have no FLGS. The nearest decent store is an hours travel.
Of course, I can't really travel at this. Point anyway |

Good morning Open Design!
I just want to say I am sooooo excited for my Midgard Campaign setting to arrive. I haven't contributed to the design forums, but what I've read while lurking guarantees I will be sending my players on a trip there sometime
Saturday Morning and the sun is shining. Time to get a little more yard work done. Next house I have I'm not going overboard with plantings. This is ridiculous sometimes keeping it up =O
Well, off to plan a scene with my second Sigil group and Lissandra the Gatekeeper. I need to figure out a way to tip them off that she's an Anarchist (one of my players is a card-carrying Trotskyite in RL so I'm assuming he will gravitate towards that faction) |

Bring on the Trotskyites! It sounds sinister.
And yeah, the Midgard release is just around the corner. I am so happy with the PDF, I'm doing the final tweaks today. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Downloading the Midgard Campaign Setting as you read this. I offered this as one of the possibilities for the future Friday evening game at a FLGS.
