We try to respond to feedback, though time is always short around here.
Nailing down the license solution stalled progress on the new issue for a day, but it's worth doing. You'll see it on all Pathfinder posts going forward. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Sorry for the slow response. I was tired and went to bed early last night and then this morning the KQ site was down so I couldn't respond when I wanted to.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to Wolfgang (and friends) for getting the open content statements onto the articles on the site. While I don't expect every article to include them.. as I fully accept that you guys should keep some stuff just for yourselves (as you do in the magazine), having at least some articles find their way onto d20pfsrd.com I think adds a lot to the community. I know the pages that included KQ content were among the more popular pages and by linking the content to both this site (in the case of content taken from articles posted here), and to the KQ store (in the case of content taken from magazines), I hope that results in additional sales for you guys.

Having the link at the bottom also kind of helps tell someone which game system a given article is for ... seeing that link sort of serves both purposes - it shows what is or is not open content AND acts as a system indicator.
Very elegant solution! _________________ Marc Radle

| So sometimes 4E content is posted that I would like to convert to PF rules and post on the site also. Is 4E content going to be as open as the PF and 3.5 stuff? |

4E content is closed and NOT available for conversion except by special arrangement (see Ryan Costello's boon traps for an example). To arrange that, please contact us privately.
Even when converted, such articles might not be open content, depending on the details.
@Marc, glad you like the solution. The link does provide details on what is and is not open, and we're going to apply that definition consistently. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

| Thanks for being very clear on that. It resolves any questions I might have on it. |

Just when I thought everyone was all rainbows and sunshine Wolfgang goes and stirs the pot! In the immortal words of the great sage Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?"
To be as clear as possible, I want to work WITH open content creators not against them. I want to encourage sales of your products, not steal without giving credit. I'm open to any suggestions or ideas on how best to make that happen. I don't intend to be combative nor offensive. I want to be a welcome part of the community, not a disruptive element. Is there a way everyone can be happy? |

Define "happy". After all, there are...lawyers involved somewhere. |

Yeah, as long as this discussion continues (and whee! entirely in public venues!), I'm going to push back against the idea that this is a one-way street.
If you ask me to strengthen my own OGL statements and then I see that you don't have your own house in order on that score.... Well, I think you can see how that would be annoying.
Deeply, deeply annoying.
So yes, I think it's fair to call you out on it. You're holding me up to a standard that d20pfsrd.com doesn't meet itself. So.... Yeah. Stirring the pot.
EDIT: That probably comes across as grumpier than it is. I see this as an ongoing conversation that's going to make both KQ.com and d20PFsrd.com stronger in the end. To do that, I'm certainly going to state some things rather directly.
I'd be happy to move the discussion to a private venue if that's more comfortable and/or more productive. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Thanks Wolfgang for creating great content for Pathfinder. We're getting our house in order, I'm happy to see you are as well. I think we all have good intentions here so I don't see any reason to continue any sort of arguments or disputes. We've moved on and I hope you'll see that we are in fact keeping to our word to improve our OGL/CUP compliance.
Anyway, thanks again for creating such a great magazine.
