Hi everybody,

I've just been wondering whether Courts of the Shadow Fey has any chance of being converted to PFRPG?

I just don't have the time to do a conversion myself and I've really enjoyed the imperial gazetteer.

I'd buy it...

Cheers,

It's possible, but it would be a separate project. And we have a lot of projects wrapping up at the moment, with Tales of the Margreve, Courts of the Shadow Fey, and Red Eye of Azathoth all closing out.

My plate is full, or I'd do it. Things do open up after Christmas.

I'd buy it as well.

I'm so hoping for a conversion...perhaps in 2011?

I would be interested in it as well. That was one I would have signed up as a patron for had it been Pathfinder. Smile

i prefer the Green Ronin approach of the setting book 'The Pirate's Guide to Freeport' and the various rules books, the Freeport Companions. Is this viable for OD projects?

advantages:
* No duplication of setting, plot, ... only reinterpretation of rules items.
* more manpower for new projects instead or retreading ground.

disadvantages:
* all DMs need two books
* scenes and encounters are impossible, that are inspired by or depend on particular rule idiosyncrasies and constructs.

condition:
* minimum number of pages

A conversion tempts to include new material and become a revision.
Savage Courts of the Shadow Fey anyone?

While I own the Cults of Freeport book and love its content, I nevertheless am too busy to do conversions or stats for all the content I'd like to use myself and, quite frankly, without the stats, I could buy 4th ed. Courts.

I don't want that, I want my stats done by a pro - if I disagree with a minor detail, I can change it anytime. With books like CoF, I have to do all the number-crunching myself, which, especially at mid- to high levels, eliminates one of the reasons why I buy modules. Then there is the argument of rules-specific flavor, where fluff comes, at least in part, from the crunch and is dependent on rules.

So no, sorry, while I'd instantly buy a PFRPGversion, I wouldn't buy a system-neutral one.

I sometimes buy rules-neutral books, but not for specific adventures/sourcebooks, but for the fluff. These, while they have their honored spots on my shelves, make up a minuscule part of my RPG-library.

Just my 2 cents, of course. Smile

This is disadvantage #1 above (2 books)

I'd buy a 3.5 or Pathfinder "Courts of the Shadow Fey" as well.

Count me in for the Pathfinder version. Would you like your payment in one coin stuffed bag or two?

I'm so interested... I would definitely invest in a patron project to raise funds for the cost of a conversion and publication.

So, um, with most of the above mentioned projects closed out, when can we expect you to start converting "Courts" to Pathfinder? Be forewarned your response may have bearing on your placement on this years 'naughty' or 'nice' list. I have connections, just ask my daughter.

I think it goes without saying that the community is ready to shell out the dough for this one.
