What's it like?
Not being able to go to a store to peruse a book to see if it's worth spending money on, I'm going to ask you fine people about it, since KQ advertises with them.
I've always been publisher agnostic, collecting material from near and far, but being able to bring that material into a cohesive gaming whole is harder to do. Mythic seems like it would take some of the drudgery out of the free form role playing process, without devolving into 'he who shouts loudest' wins.
What do you guys think? |

I've read, but not played, the Mythic game.
My 2 cents: Everyone, and I mean, everyone, at the table has to be mature and experienced roleplayer to make Mythic work.
I think it would give you a deep roleplaying experience. I think the system shortcuts the drudgery of GM prep about as well as it can be done without completely giving over to randomness.
But I'll be honest. I can't think of a group that I've been associated with that could make it work. A friend of mine, who's played just about everything imaginable, says he can only recall two groups in three decades of gaming that could pull it off. _________________ Thanks for all the little people -- my collection of miniatures -- that made me the DM I am today. |
