I'm just throwing an idea that I had for some time.
I got my iPad 4 months ago and beside the fact that I can't stop using it (laying credence to the claims that it's magical!) I started looking for ways to use it in my weekly D&D games.
First thing I did was dowload goodreader and upload all my PDFs to it, I also stopes printing my character sheets and just saved them as PDF and put them on the iPad.
But recently I started to gear up toward getting back to DMing and going through all the PDF files of advantures I realized that a (magical) device like the iPad open up new formats for advantures and settings.
For example, let's say that you got a Zobeck gazetteer like app, make the map your primary way for navigation in the city with the places of interests highlighted and when you touch them a small window open with the relevant information, another touch and it expand with more information.
The user can toggle places of interests, temples, taverans, inns etc.
Same can be done with larger places, in a kingdom map you have several towns that you can touch and explore, if you select the king forest than you get a sub-section with all the relevant info and a list of all the common creatures and monsters that live inhabit the place.
My point is that having an interactive tool to explore a dungeon or a setting or a city will be so cool.
What do you guys think, does any of you use an iPad in his games and if so how do you use it?
