Since not everyone is involved in every project, can we get a quick run down of where each project is? I know I plan on picking up some on release that I didn't have the time/funds to participate in, and I'm betting others would be interested too. _________________ -Jesse Butler

| I may be wrong, but I believe the only active project is now the Midgard one. Dark Deeds is finishing up this coming week or so. Streets, the Northlands, and Lost have gone to layout and are up for pre-order. |

I know Midgard is the only one with active design, but having a good idea of when the release dates will be would be nice. For example, Dark Deeds is still open for patronage in the store. Poor Azathoth has been out of design forever, but I don't think it is going to hit print before GenCon. _________________ -Jesse Butler

Ah, I misunderstood what you were asking. I'm sure Wolfgang will answer your question.
What did happen to Azathoth? |

Red Eye of Azathoth is still in layout, but has suffered the slings and arrows of every possible misfortune. It will ship before GenCon if it kills me (and it might).
Northlands is closest and will ship this month.
Streets is up next and ships in May.
Lost City is in layout and should also ship by the end of May.
Red Eye seems more like June or July.
I know that Freeport is in final stages, but it's not to editing yet. I would not expect it to go through editing, layout, errata, and printing before September. I've taken it down from the store.
Midgard remains in design, and a new project should be launching in May. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

The senior patrons will definitely see a list of options for the May project, just as soon as I can find a minute to post it.
There's about 5 or 6 projects suggested, of which I think half have a good chance. There's also some interesting options that I think won't make it.... But I've been SO VERY WRONG before that I would not dare to guess what patrons will support.
Soon! _________________ Wolfgang Baur

| Are these spinoffs of the current Midgard project, then? Or entirely new things? |

The 4 to 6 pitches I've got filed away are mostly entirely new things, though I think the majority have a Zobeck/Midgard connection. They don't require the campaign setting, just as Tales of the Margreve didn't require it.
The spinoffs of the Midgard setting are being written by the patrons as their own standalone projects, like the Bestiary and the regional adventures. I look forward to more spinoffs like that as the campaign setting continues to grow and the design gets both richer and broader, covering more regions and more core infrastructure elements (like the pantheon).
Now, those spinoffs are not patron projects, just straight-up freelance work that goes to patrons who pitch something great. I'm really quite excited by those as well, as it means Midgard will have lots of good support material. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Fixed that for you.
If you look at all the Zobeck projects that have already been produced, there's a lot of good Midgard stuff already. I'm not on the northlands project, but I'm going to pick it up ASAP. _________________ -Jesse Butler

Ah, ok. I had wondered if they were in regard to the additional pitch you were allowing the major patrons in the Midgard thread.
Very cool. I look forward to hearing more about them. |

Sure, there's these pitches currently in hand:
an adventure anthology for Pathfinder (high-level),
a magic/sourcebook pitch for Pathfinder,
a Midgard setting sourcebook for Pathfinder,
an epic-level adventure for 4E D&D,
a DM sourcebook for 4E D&D, and also
a HERO System PC sourcebook pitch (you heard me!)
I think that's it. If you submitted something and don't recognize it on this list, hit me up in PM or email. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Will this will be senior patrons of all current (unfinished) projects? I am a senior patron on The Lost City - does this count? (I really think it should!)
Thanks for posting the update on where each project is. It's been a bit frustrating as Open Design expands that news and updates have been few and far between on individual unfinished projects. We used to get to see a few pieces of art or a map (sometimes even a design essay) in the hiatus between the text being written and the pdf being released - we haven't had anything for Lost City for weeks. Not sure about the other projects that are winding up. I guess it's a symptom of OD's success but I think it's a shame.
Cheers

Well if the HERO system is open for new projects, then I may have to crack open my GURPS books again and submit something |
