They're all spambots, Watcher. That's why they're so quiet. 
Seriously, the store email is loaded with offers for blue pills and WOW gold. Mostly written in Chinese, for some reason.
I expect things to get noisy again after the next issue goes out. Oh, yes.

Sekrit Meeting was unrelated to next issue.
Posting habits here are pretty clearly related to an issue hitting the newstands. Which makes a certain amount of sense.

This might be a question for Ed instead of Wolfgang... do you use phpBB's account registration, or have you altered it to use another tool? If you use phpBB, I can send you a link for an add-on to the basic code that seems to stop spambots from registering.
I run a small message board that recently converted to phpBB, and within our first week of existing, we had about 100 spambots registering and posting. We haven't seen any after installing the mod.

I believe that when you sign up at the store, you get a forum account. Some people use one, but not the other...

I don't think that's true.... At least, you need to give yourself a forum username and log in with that to post to the forums.

| For whatever it is worth, it does look like it did automatically create an account for me when I subscribed to KQ. It looks like it just took the main part of my email address and created the username from that. (I'm 99.9% sure that I didn't actually fill out the form to register myself.) |
