What has Open Design done for you? Share on this thread.
Here's my thesis:
Open Design taught me how to write stuff gamers would actually pay to read. That's it in a nutshell. Smile Open Design has been a school of learning for me as a fledgling freelance designer. By participating in projects, learning from the experts, learning from my mistakes, trusting my instincts and not giving up, I keep getting better and better. I've still got a long way to go, but I just want to say, "Thank You!" to everyone who's given me feedback, advice or encouragement.

Today, after much hard work, networking and listening to feedback, I was just offered $ for the first time for my writing.
[PING!]
Very Happy Hey, I just make Freelancer 1!

So glad you've hung in there, James! It does take persistence and a willingness to learn. Well done. Smile

There has been some wild talk about it.

I think Open Design is actually cooking right along with Midgard, Freeport, Dark Roads, and Journeys all in various stages of the publishing process.

No, the original Freeport setting and almost all of its supplements have been published by Green Ronin.

However, GR granted Open Design a license to do one Pathfinder RPG adventure in the Open Design style. That one is called "Dark Deeds in Freeport" and should ship in 2012.
