I'm keen on a 3.5 / Pathfinder RPG Thassilonian adventure.

Cool. It looks like Lost Lords is pulling ahead a bit.

Which means I'm very curious to hear what the Paizonians have to say about a licensed adventure.

Me too.

You know I still haven't voted? As always its partially an intellectual exercise. Plus the more people coming to the forums and the site makes the health of the program endure.

I would like to see a Golarion OD project though. Enough to Senior Patron it.

There are cool things left to explore in Varisa, but after this 3rd AP is done, they're going to be taking a break from it. It seems a natural fit for you to step in and do a follow-up piece.

In a perfect world, I'd love to see it being a Patron Project. I would imagine they would not want it to be exclusive however. That wouldn't make sense for them, since the adventure would sort of add to their canon. They'd want to be able to sell it in their online store for some time to come. I don't see that as unreasonable on their part.

That doesn't pose a problem for me me though. Ever since Steam and Brass, I've always advocated a little mercy on the whole supreme exclusivity thing.

Thing of things you could do that they simply don't have to time for.. liking a write-up of the elusive Peacock Spirit, the Oliphant, or other horrors of that sad, reckless age.

I loved doing the cult of the Peacock Spirit, and there was a whole followup article that I meant to do, but didn't find time for.

Plus yeah, big Vancian magic fun with the summoning ur-sorcery of Thassilon. I love that stuff.

Lost Lords it is.

The possible Golarion background (and your thread over at paizo.com) made me come here and register, but to be honest, it's your Atlantis/Cthulhu references which made me vote for this one. I like the premise of Angels as well, I have to admit

I voted for Lost Lords, of course, but I have to qualify my vote somewhat.

For me, the strength of the pitch is also its weakness. I like the idea of a Pathfinder/Golarion tie-in. Without that, Lost Lords rapidly drops to a 3rd place choice. I also suspect that without the possibility of a Pathfinder tie-in that the numbers will prove to be over-inflated. Meaning that the prospect of a Pathfinder tie-in is driving it up and up, and if that disappears there will be a re-allocation of interest. Thats a generalization of course, because some people (like Wormys_Queue) are genuinely excited by the project without it being a Pathfinder set piece.

Just to be clear, if between now and the next voting round Erik Mona told Wolfgang that Paizo just wasn't ready for a 3rd Party Licensee yet, I would take it in stride, continue to be a loyal Paizo Subscriber.. but I would vote for a different Open Design project than Lost Lords. I would also stop promoting that project, and start selling whatever other one I chose as my final pick instead.

I feel a little bad for pushing Lost Lords, cause I believe that the regular core constituency of Open Design went for Angels and Shadow Court. I worry that they saw their pick as being swept away from them by an influx of outsiders. The flip side of that is that by drawing new people to Open Design it continues to flourish and be renewed.

Ultimately, without the Pathfinder connection, I think Angels and Shadow Courts are the better picks (for me).

The Shadow Courts are sort of near and dear to my heart, and I think t would be a good way to sort of finish them off in the expanding and growing Zobeck Campaign setting. Also the dual nature of the adventure (espionage and politicking then followed by traditional style DnD) is innovative.

Likewise Angels would be cutting edge, and significantly original and fresh. Its not 'Yellow Submarine' but its close enough.

(Inside joke: the topic came up among Senior Patrons that we'd like to see something that had never been done before.. and I quipped, "Yeah, like Yellow Submarine, with Blue Meanies and freaky monsters", and Wolfgang instead reminded us Angels of Our Better Nature. Not Yellow Submarine, but pretty weird.)

I'd be hard pressed to choose between Angels and the Shadow Court. But again, I voted for Lost Lords because a Pathfinder tie-in would trump them, and Paizo needs to see the numbers. If Paizo declines, then all bets are off.

Well, to get my donation it would have to be a 4E project. As another reader pointed out, I too have 3.5 modules to last me until the end of time. I like pretty much all of the pitches, so the edition will be the clincher for me.

You may have a point here. As far as I am concerned I thought about if I should vote because I haven't been a Patron/regular so far. But this may well be my first time to donate to the project (dunno about 4E projects to be honest) so maybe it's a good time to help making the decision.

Maybe if Wolfgang clones himself he could serve more constituencies! (Certainly it would allow segments of patronage to get things faster.)

Nah.. Wormy, you got to vote with your heart and your passion, especially if its your first time.

I always say, "You pay for the priviledge of being a Patron. You can't be shy, or do things purely out of interest of others.. especialy when its the first time." Your Patronage is your vote. And maybe I can't explain this in neat terms, but the first time is definitely the best time to speak your needs and wants. Seeing your ideas considered and made reality is part of the fun. Worry about others on your next Project.

And there is an agenda in that; if you don't have a good time and feel like you had a voice the first time, you might not come back.

So First Timers, vote with your gut and don't worry about anybody but yourself!

I'm something of a troublemaker because I'm Edition Neutral, and usually happy with any of the top choices. I will be this time too, there's no bad choice for me. I always stir the pot, because I can't lose. I often champion underdog causes too.

Lastly, I've never believed the magic was in the rules. Folks, the laughter, fun, and imagination came from you. Not some rulebook.

Voted for Lost Lords... It was my second choice last time, behind Tales of Zobeck. I remember feeling very disappointed because of its poor performance in the polls last time, because the premise of a sunken city/Lovecraftian horror/Indiana Jones action sounded so neat. So, I'm excited that it is doing well this time!
