| Midgard IS a flat world, you can walk off of the edge, so what do you think the heavenly bodies around it are? |
| A cosmic scaled astrolabe, all those moons and stars are cold and mechanical, not necessarily lifeless, but certainly not purely organic. . |

Our Midgardian solar system that is. As compared to theirs. When we get around to it that is...

I'm so glad to see this! Was wondering about the placement of the planets, the moons (mage's stars), orbits and orreries and the level of celestial knowledge-sophistication any Midgardians might have...
[EDIT] Seeing as Midgard IS flat, and because of what I've heard of DRGH and read of the Wasted West and the strange Western Ocean I didn't vote for my comfort zone. Not too far afield mind you... _________________ einherjar/Oceanshieldwolf/Morgan Boehringer

Hmm. Perhaps they are holes in the cage the holds the World Serpent?
The cloak of a pilgrim god that walks across the sky every night in search of something?
The lights of other planes, in the far branches of the world tree?
Perhaps they are the illuminated stewards of the World Tree, flitting from branch to branch as they cut dead twigs and help foster new growth. Perhaps the sun is one tasked with taking care of Midgard. |

I like these three. The black of the night sky as the serpent's cage. Intelligent stars as caretakers and illumination to the worlds within it. Other planets could be the cells of other titanic monstrosities like the serpent that have similar inhabitants. The paths of the shadow fey might even be the dark matter that form that cage.
Sorta reminds me of the end credits from the Thor movie. They show the lights and worlds of a nebula as the tree Yggdrasil. _________________ Roachling avatar pic drawn by Alexandra Douglass.
