I'm going to PaizoCon!
Which of you crazy cats will be there too?
What will the kobolds be doing? I'd like to help! _________________ Kobold Minion #66

I'm going to try, but too early to tell if I'll actually make it... _________________ TimsterMon

I might run up with some other PFS people if I can. I also am taking and East-coast trip . . .
Love to see you and your family there, James!

Zherog, would love to see you at this small but incredibly lively show. It's a great chance to meet the Pathfinder hardcore and a ton of RPG industry types (mostly Paizonian, but many others as well).
James, Timster, Nick, I hope you can all make it. I am looking forward to the show already. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I need to dig up the cash - it'll cost me about $1,300 or so to go. Maybe more, depending on how much beer costs out there.
Folks here can help sell me on it. What's PaizoCon like? I'm not looking for words like "awesome," or "fun." I expect those things. What's a typical day involve? How interesting are the seminars? What's the dealer room like? (Actually, is there a dealler room?)
How many food options are in the area of the hotel? That is, am I stuck eating McDonanld's the whole time, or are there several places in walking distance? _________________ John Ling

There is a dealer room. It's shining star and only locale of any importance is the Kobold Press booth.
Seriously, the dealer room is pretty much the Paizo booth, the Kobold Press booth, artist tables, Jon Brazer Enterprises, the Reaper booth, and one or two others. LP Jr. came out last year, but I don't know whether he'll return. Frog Gods never run a booth.
Most of the gameplay is Pathfinder Society, plus some Midgard Adventures (about 8 slots last year).
The highlight Saturday is the Banquet, where Paizo staff give speeches and roll out the product schedule for the coming year. It's a good time.
Seminars are up-close and personal. Good stuff, mostly, not as crowded as at GenCon.
It's laid-back and there are tons of chances to chat with peers, gamers, and editors. I guess it's a chance to show off your chops as a Venture Captain, but I'm less into the PFS stuff. Mostly, an awesome, awesome networking opportunity for Pathfinder fans and freelancers.
Beer is free for kobold minions. Or so I'm told. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Yeah, I'm not too interesting in PFS stuff. I love gaming with friends - either at home or on one-shot stuff at Cons - but never took to PFS or other organized play groups.
Free beer, however, is quite an enticing offer. Assuming I'm a kobold minion, of course. I mean, I'd like to think I''m a kobold minion, what with starting Monday Monsters on the blog and the pile of articles I wrote in the mag and, er, other stuff... But then, on the other hand, I'm not as cool as Ben or Christina, so that's gotta count against me.
Thanks for the info. That helps. _________________ John Ling

If you show up at Paizocon and help out, you are officially a minion, that is generally the initiation...and occasionally gets you free beer... _________________ Adam W. Roy

Hey, I didn't get free beer last year so somebody owes me!
But seriously...
Keep me in mind to help out at a seminar or whatever. I have many gifts!
Didn't know you were a venture captain John. Listen man, that cinches it: you must come! The PFS events will make your year. SRSLY. _________________ Kobold Minion #66

I'm cool? When did that happen?
I'm planning on making the show. I may have to sell off a few unneeded organs to do so, but what the hey! Hope to see many of the same faces from last time...and get to meet John! _________________ Christina Stiles

I should be there, although some of the scheduling triangulation might be tricky, as it falls on Joy's birthday this year.... _________________ Adam W. Roy
