Anyone who would like to preview any of these concepts and give us some feedback please email me at Matthew.W.Stinson@gmail.com with "Playtest" in the subject bar. Here is the Moai, we would love to hear what the kobolds think.
MOAI (10 RP)
Moai (Rock People)
The tall men of stone once held a grand peaceful empire until the great sleep took them and the race as one slumbered for nearly 4000 years to wake and find the world changed and their memories lost. Now every couple of hundred years each individual moai will go to sleep and then awake hundreds of years later with no personal memories in a endless cycle until a unnatural death is delivered upon them.
+2 Strength, -4 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom (3 RP)
Slow Speed: The Moai have a base speed of 20 feet, and their speed is never modified by encumbrance or armor.
Darkvision (3 RP): Moai can see in the dark up to 90 feet.
Stone Legs (2 RP): Moai’s strong stone legs are thick and sturdy; they count as quadrupeds for the purposes of encumbrance and CMD.
Natural Armor: Moai have a +1 natural armor bonus.
Tired (-1 RP): Moai receive a -2 racial penalty on saving throws against sleep effects. Moai spellcasters that require sleep to regain spells need an extra two hours of sleep.
Memory Fragments (2 RP): Moai still retain some instinctive knowledge from their past lives. Moai may select any two skills to add to their class skill list.
Languages: Moai begin play speaking Common and Terran. Moai with high Intelligence scores can choose any of the following bonus languages: Dwarven, Giant, Gnome, or Undercommon.
For information about play testing this race or some of our new classes please contact me at Matthew.W.Stinson@gmail.com
Thank you for your time.

Interesting race Matthew. I'm curious just how tall Moai are?
Here are some comments: can you add a bit of flavor to the Moai's attribute modifiers? Something like "Moai are strong ad sturdy but their rocky form makes them somewhat clumsy. Their long years of dreaming sleep and elemental intuition gives them great insight."
Why Darkvision 90' instead of 60'? Seems a little excessive unless the Moai are underground dwellers which the flavor text currently doesn't support.
I would rename Stone Legs. Maybe Stone Stability/Boulderstance/Rock Solid. I like the ability immensely.
I like Tired but might rename it Sleepless/sleeplessness/Sleep Deprivation
Memory Fragments - I like it!!!
Hope any of that helps.
P.S. I like that you have Go, Good, Odd, Devil and Evil in one word. Onward Gooddevils! _________________ einherjar/Oceanshieldwolf/Morgan Boehringer

Yes, naming abilities are an issues. You should see our poor Amazon class at the moment. It's all Amazon this and Amazon that. There will have to be a lot of creative renaming for that class as will. As for your questions, her we go.
Here's the Physical Description: Standing between six and seven and ½ feet tall the moai often tower over other races they interact with. They have broad shoulders but thin waist and hips with large feet and hands. Moai faces are distinct as they are squared off with a long forehead, strong jaw, and high cheek bones. A moai’s stone skin is usually the gray of granite but can be an array for different colors such as the browns and reds of clay, a variety of marble, or simple of veins or clusters of precious metals such as gold or emeralds within their skin of an more ordinary stone. Mostly moai hair is black and they have no body hair. It is not uncommon for moai man to be bald atop their heads. While within the great sleep a moai’s body regenerates back to it’s “perfect” selfish regrowing limbs and teeth while their skin smooths over to a high polish.
Ability flavor text- +2 Strength, -4 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom (3 RP) A Moai body is like stone, hard, heavy, and not prone to be moving. Moai are often known to look at situations from different angles often applying mathematics in to their problem solving, even those of social nature.
As for the Darkvision... I can't really remember. They are an underground race, or at least they were, as the first mountain gave birth to them.
I like Stone Stability, I believe I'll use if you don't mind.
I think I'm going to rename the Tired ability Slumber. It has a more fantasy sound to it.
Thank you for taking a look. Feel free to "liking" Gooddevil Press on Facebook. I'm glad you like the name Gooddevil. We've taken the satyr as our logo. It's a play off of Pan... and I had a 2nd D&D character named that in High School. _________________ -You are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world. |

Any time, Matthew - glad to help out people with their creative endeavours. And by all means make use of any or all of my suggestions...
P.S. Shouldn't this thread go in the Press Releases or Off Topic sub-forums? _________________ einherjar/Oceanshieldwolf/Morgan Boehringer

I was going to put this in the Press Release section, but it's not really a press release, it's a play test, so I didn't know where to put it. On the Paizo boards they have a recruitment section and I posted there for Paizo, but I didn't see anything like that here. _________________ -You are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world. |

@Wolfgang- If you would like me to move this to a different section I would be more than happy to.
@Everyone- Who do you think of this Flaw? Is it too restrictive? Not restrictive enough?
Flaw
Narcoleptic Race
Requirement: Moai
Disadvantage: Anytime a Narcoleptic moai rolls a nature 1 on any d20 roll the moai must make a Will save DC 10 + character level or fall asleep as per the sleep spell for 1 min per character level. _________________ -You are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world. |

You know, I guess this flaw could be for anyone. Not just Moai. _________________ -You are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world. |
