So will you bite the bullit and try it out?

I have played every incarnation of D&D since 1E, so I'll try it out to see what they've done, it is after all D&D.

I have some friends who keep trying to get me to try Castles & Crusades, so I'm going to appease them as well.

As an industry wannabe? Yep. No wait, that sounds self-serving. Wink

I'm very interested by the recent information and would like to check it out, try a short campaign, and see how it is. If I like it beyond that point, I would probably make the switch permanently.

I'll be going 4e all the way.

A lot of what I hear I like. Some of what I hear I don't like. But most of what I don't like is mostly setting and cosmetic stuff. If the rules deliver on what they say it will be then I can do my own flavor and fluff.

I'll try it. If I don't like it I have more than enough material from the earlier editions to keep me going.

I've had a mixed reaction to the changes, some I like (Dragonborn in core? Yes please), others, not so much.

I'll try it for a while. Just read "Worlds & Monsters" last night, though, and disliked about 80% of the setting changes.

Fortunately, I'll be running a homebrew setting anyway.

I will play 4e, at some point, I'm sure. I play every game at least once, it seems. Smile

I seriously doubt it. And why should I? I've got more d20 stuff than I'll ever use, and I can't stand 99% of the changes they're proposing anyway.

I admit I like two or three of the mechanical changes I've found out about but none of them are so wonderful that they'll make much difference in the game. Besides that, there are several other mechanical changes that IMO suck sewage.

Not gonna switch either - there's just too many good reasons NOT too. Will stick with 3.0/3.5. Cool

I'm saving my pennies and nickels and dimes in a change jar on my dresser. When it gets full, I'll buy 4E. Until then, I'll just be playing 3.0/3.5 -- especially modules written by a certain former Hawaiian actor .... Wink

The gaming group I'm in is sharply divided on whether to go to 4E. I think the world-building aspects are turning off many.

For me, I would hope that D&D's rules remain a toolbox I can play whatever style of fantasy suits me. I would like to say I'm embracing 4E -- the people involved in designing the game itself are top-notch, and I'm trusting they're decision making.

On the other hand, the marketing of 4E has been so abysmal it's made me wonder if it's worth the effort. A lot of the rollout has left me shaking my head ... it's as if WotC is intentionally trying to destroy the previous brand (and any positive associations from it) and start with a new customer base. It's bewildering.

I was leaning towards changing, them I saw that they were going to kill Brass and Bronze Dragons. I'm a BIG Dragon fan. I don't think I can support that.
