Maybe it's just me, but do the Mythic Adventures Playtest rules that Paizo released today just scream "Midgard Campaign Rules" to you?
The ley lines, the touch of the gods, the role of heroes in making change.... I dunno, I can really get behind some of what they do.
Thoughts? _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I would agree that the heroism angle is shared by the Midgard Campaign rules and what I have gleaned so far about the Mythic Rules. Challenging gods, changing the face of the world and history and epic struggles between and against aeon-enmeshed foes does scream Midgard.
I am very interested to see how playtesters manage to get into the feel and flavor of Mythic, rather than just the mechanics. I want to hear equally about Rifts Mega-damage-style village barn busting hammers AND Astral battles with Uber-Chaos beast-dragons...
Mythic deception and stealth in the Halls of the Gods. Plane-shaking ur-songs of destruction. And so on.
C'mon Midgardians - Mythic Midgard playtest time! |

My thoughts? They're riding our wave man!
I don't know whether to feel angry or flattered.
Maybe we had a mole in the project? _________________ Kobold Minion #66

I think if the end result is anywhere close to the current playtest version of the rules, there are some *excellent* opportunities coming for crossover between the Mythic Rules and Midgard. ^_^ _________________ -Carlos Ovalle |

I know, if I had the Mythic rules before wrapping up "Edge of the World", I think the Godflesh section might have been a Greater Trial.
Well, looking forward to seeing what people do with the playtest rules. There's issues, but their premise seems really sound. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I hope we see a Midgardized supplement for both Mythic and Ultimate Campaign. |

I can't keep up with all the good stuff being published these days.
Can someone provide a link to the Mythic Adventures? |

Thanks.
Cool! Their message boards are visible to the general public, so even though I'm not participating in the playtest I can see the commentary. Kind of like having a ringside seat at an Open Design project. |

Yep, I rather like that, and I think I may do an open playtest for a future Kobold Press project. Or maybe just keep it to open commentary on the Valhalla Calling pitches. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I agree. I would definitely open up the pitches to a lot more forum traffic, review, feedback and cross pollination of same. And give Kobold Press an idea of what possible patrons want/are interested in and what possible patronage projects to propose and pursue. Hmm. Lots of P-words there. Perspicacity pops up peripatetically. _________________ einherjar/Oceanshieldwolf/Morgan Boehringer
