This by no means any great genius on my part, as all this information can be found in the LiveJournal FAQ, but for the ease and convienence of my fellow Patrons..
Here's some common LJ tricks to make posting easier. And yeah, they're HTML code except for some ones that as specific to LiveJournal.
Why put there here?
'Cause it took several projects for someone to point to the FAQ (go Daigle!)
It just occured to me that maybe the information needs to be brought to the people instead of the other way around.
Without further ado...

BOLD: <b>Your Text</b> or <strong>Your Text</strong>
Italics: <i>Your Text</i> or <em>Your Text</em> (stands for emphasis)
Underline: <u>Your Text</u>
Centered: <center>Centered text must start on a separate line.</center>
Pre-formatted text: <pre>This text is pre-formatted, including multiple spaces .</pre> (Note! I can't actually show you an example of this on KQ's forums, but imagine leaving lots of spaces in the middle of your sentence!)
big and small: This text is <big>big</big> and <small>small</small>.
Links: <a href="http://www.livejournal.com">LiveJournal</a>
Images: <img src="imageurl" /> (Yeah kids, drive Uncle Wolfgang nuts with images in your comments! They're not confusing enough!

Watcher, what about LJ Cuts? You know, hiding text behind a tag until you click on it?
I'll have to experiment, but I don't think you can do those in Comments, only main entries.
Watcher, I hate deleting my comment and retyping it because I innocently misspelled shapeSHIFTER. Can't I just edit my comments?
You can edit a comment if all of the following are true:
1.) You posted the comment yourself, and your account is a Paid or Permanent account at the time you want to edit the comment. (You need to be logged in as the author of the comment.) That's right, the ability to edit your comments, even on someone else's LJ is a feature exclusive to Paid and Permanent Accounts!
2.) The comment has never been replied to.
3.) The comment or its parent thread has not been frozen (an administrative function that a LJ owner can do).
Edit a comment by clicking the pencil icon. A comment that has been edited will include information on when it was last edited; this information may not appear if your journal theme isn't set to show it. You lose the ability to edit your comment when someone replies to it, even when that person deletes their response.
Watcher, tell me again how I can change my poll vote?
Click on the link that has the Poll# (It might look like this: Poll#142317), then towards the top you'll see a tab that offers "Fill Out Poll" and click on it. You'll see your first response already toggled and then you can change it and submit. It will alter your vote and change the overall poll results immediately.
You can use the same technique to also view the poll responses to see how other Patrons have voted on things like Pitches and Brainstorming Polls. This I'll give you a real voyeuristic thrill until you check to see who didn't vote for your pitch, then you'll feel bad and hate it. Sorry! Shouldn't have bitten that particular apple!

Have any tips on easy ways to keep up with the most current comments without having to reread everything, remember how many posts were in a thread the last time you read it or scan for recalculated times? |

Heh. Seriously.. I have no good answer for that.
But wait!
There is a technique that allows you to receive an e-mail alert every time that Wolfgang posts a new major entry! (That's how I get to them so fast)
Gimme five minutes to figure that out again... It's stays that way after you set it up. |

Watcher, how do I receive an E-mail or IM or maybe even a Text when Wolfgang updates the Open Design LiveJournal?
When you are logged into your own account, go to Open Design's Profile:
http://open-design.livejournal.com/profile
On the right hand side of the screen, you'll see a thumbtack icon, click on it.. It will offer a variety of notification options for when Open Design updates it's LiveJournal.
Once you do that, you can update those notifications by going to (while you're logged into your account):
http://www.livejournal.com/manage/subscriptions/ |

On each header of a comment, there is an expand link. If you click this at the top of a tree, it expands all the ones under it.
