I haven't found an existing thread for this topic, so maybe I'm the only one with that problem:
Whenever I open the OD blog, the website/blog is PAINFULLY slow. Even scrolling up or down comes only after several seconds delay, sometimes more than 10 sec. Reading a list of more than 100 comments becomes a practice in patience, and after the first dozen, frustration creeps in. ...imagine that: Becoming frustrated while reading one of the OD brainstorming sessions. That would be be hilarious, if it wasn't sad.  
I don't have that problem with any other webpage, so it's probably not my computer* or my browser**. I haven't checked many other livejounal pages, but the ones I tried go smoothly. I normally don't use Internet Explorer (and wont, just for one single website), but when I tried, the OD blog behaves slightly better. Still not normally fast, but bearable.
* athlon 2600+, 2 GHz, 1 gb memory
** firefox 3.0.5
Anyone else with that kind of problem?
...or even a solution? |

Yeah, reading long threaded comments is difficult on LJ at times. Mainly it's waiting for it to open up.
LJ needs to do something with their program. Sometimes when you post, it doesn't display that there's a comment for a long time in your Friends list. (However, if you click through to comments you can almost always see all of them. The total isn't right.) |

It's a Livejournal problem. I don't have a solution, other than (eventually) moving the discussions away from Livejournal.
It's on my to-do list...
