Wolfgang,

I know you were busy getting Zobeck and Wrath out the door and are now gearing up for Halls, but I was just wondering, did you ever get around to doing a poster map for Zobeck?

You mentioned at one point that you were going to have a poster map printed locally and then made available for sale. Is this still a possibility?

I *LOVE* the Hardback flip book... all I need now is a gorgeous color poster sized map! Smile

A color poster map would be very, very cool!

What would be even sweeter would be a vinyl map like what Fiery Dragon did for Ptolus. Any chance you could fund such a project like you do for open design (i.e. put up a fundraiser and offer a discount on the map based upon what level you donate)?

You're right, I did plan to get some printed up and available, but in the holiday/Wrath/Tales rush, it didn't happen.

I'll look into doing something with it soon.

What's the story with vinyl maps? Do you know who prints them?

I figured as much. Smile My post was just a friendly whip crack to remind the kobold slaves of the tasks they have Smile

As far as a vinyl map... that would be WONDERFUL!!! I have the Ptolus map (sadly, not the really big vunyl one) in vinyl and I love it.

I would imagine you could get it done at any sign printer or kinkos. The size you would be printing would be easily printed on standard "banner" sized rolls of vinyl.

I don't know what the price would be for you to print a batch size that you would need, but I know I looked into getting a map printed at Kinkos (a map from Ki Ryn Studios http://ki-ryn.com/Future_Armada/ ) and for a single map it was going to cost me something like $70.

Of course, if I were to go to a sign shop (Fast Signs, etc) and order a hundred of them, I'm sure the cost would be significantly less.

Do you know James Bell at Fiery Dragon? He had some made when Ptolus came out. If not, I can get you his email I think.

I know that http://www.gamer-printshop.com/ specialises in on demand large format map printing. I know that the person who runs it has the licence for all the War of the Burning Sky maps from ENWorld so should be well set up to handle OD map projects too.

Print on Demand maps would be very cool.

I still want it to happen. I have to stuff envelopes for KQ and keep Halls running, though.

Maybe I can set it up with gamerprinter. There's just not enough hours in the day.

Hey Wolfgang, Torstan sent me a private message at Cartographers' Guild regarding this thread and your needs. Just so you know, I'm the guy who contacted you last week regarding the possibility of working on a project for my Northland Picts campaign setting.

Anyway, I run Gamer Printshop, and as Torstan mentioned, I am licensed by E.N. Publishing for the War of the Burning Sky maps, as well as a half a dozen other smaller publishers and their map products.

Basically I have a square foot charge for printing and for lamination, publishers are welcome to add on their own surcharge if they desire, though many are more interested in getting poster maps to their clients, moreso than making any additional monies for map sales. Either way works.

I offer an agressively low price so I can better serve the RPG community - $2.99 per square foot for full color, large format printing. I ship maps worldwide using USPS or UPS and offer an Ecommerce page to include all such maps.

I'm all ears, if you have any interests for this service and setting things up are pretty easy and no direct cost to you. I hope you are interested, as I would love to be able to offer your products from my site.

Sounds perfect. I think it's something like 5 square feet; let's discuss the details in email, but I think this should work and I'd like to have it live in the next 30 days (or sooner).

Just noticed that this is up on the Gamer Printshop site here:

Looks like a lovely map for the money.

Cool.

Wolfgang, do we have any specifics on this? Size, material, etc? (I'm assuming it isn't a vinyl map based on the price...)

So mainly, I guess my question is... How big is it?
