Well, sir, can you be bribed? Can you? |

Well, given that I do more than half my writing for patrons these days, apparently I *CAN* be bribed. Or at the very least, I can be convinced to round up the kobolds, pack some bags, and do some gaming.
I'll look at the schedule and see what I can do. Currently, the only conventions in the Open Design budget and schedule for 2009 are
1) NorWesCon (already over),
2) PaizoCon (June 12 to 14),
3) PAX (September 4 to 6)
4) Pure Speculation (Edmonton, October)
I'd love to attend Origins or GenCon, of course, but it would require armtwisting, hotel space, mysterious doses of free time, etc. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Armtwisting = check
Hotel Space = in the works
Doses of Free Time = Of course
I'm thinking it would just be cool to have you out there, especially as a player. I know Valianor is running an OD game, and I'm thinking about running something from my Pet Project as well...
And if we can manage to cover hotel costs, you wouldn't mind sitting down face-to-face with a few of us, would you, and telling us what's up your sleeve for OD's future?

If you manage to cover hotel costs, I'm happy to run a patron-only Q&A on all the secret plans for the Fall OD project and two unannounced projects, plus general brainstorming. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Psst. Don't overcommit yourself. What if you came for part of the con, not all? (I'm in that boat, and other friends are too. Better two of the four days than none at all, for example.)
Okay, I'm in for a share of a hotel room and I'll even buy lunch or dinner. If we can do this, it would be cool. Good thing I left a small block of free time in my schedule. |

Hell, I'll pick up a meal in there (and at least a round or two), as well.
I'd offer hotel space, but I don't want to inflict my 6 friends on Wolfgang.
(seriously. with as little time as we spend in the room, it's actually quite pleasant.)

(edit: Who's also running "Redcloak Ruckus" on thursday, but could probably do something late that night, too.) _________________ progressio sine timore aut praejudica - Spectemur agendo |

Jaye has already been gracious enough to put me up for Wednesday night, so he's committed to folks coming to the show!
I'll keep you stocked in beer if you come and I won't bug you to death about OD projects...promise. |

So, here's what I think.
Hotel costs (at the Radisson) ran me about $600 for 4 nights (maybe a little less). I'm assuming Mr. Baur would like to stay in his own room, so we need only work out how many nights.
So, Mr. Baur, what's it gonna be? All 4? Three? A short weekend? What do we need to raise to make this feasible?
And should we buy the room (if so, I'll set up a PayPal and put it on my CC - with refunds going back to everyone if we can't manage to meet the quota) OR would Mr. Baur be better off setting up a link to his account, and we'll just donate?

| In fact...I will contribute my fee from the last trio of KQ/OD ads I designed to the hotel fund - which requires nothing more than bookeeping shenannigans on Wolfgang's part. |

So is this something we're going to pursue, or does Wolfgang's schedule not permit sponsored attendence?

I could probably attend for two or three days, though I'm already overcommited on conventions this year.
I really, really apperciate the offer, but I'm going to have to pass. _________________ Wolfgang Baur
