This is cool. I read the first one - love the Ragnarok Clock idea.
Comments:
Do you have Complete Adventurer? Some of the spells you have are similar (except their version allows you to cast the equivalent of Expeditious Retreat, lesser, as an immediate action IIRC).
You might want to consider including in the blurb about the supplement what you get. The first one is primarily new spells. That might attract people whereas the title itself doesn't say what's inside. Could be fluff. Could have something to do with nebulous subjects like time magic and illusions? (Going by the title.)
Overall, good stuff. I love new spells. Looking to see more! (I will try to get back to read more supplements when I can. Time for me is...fleeting.)
I think you can also shrink your OGL to a smaller font, thus making it a single page. It's a necessary evil. |

Var,
Thanks for having a look. I'll definitely add some Descriptive text on site to give people a better idea of what's in the GSS.
You know, I'm not sure if I have Complete Adventurer. I might have it as a .pdf (I own it), but I'm not sure if it's here in Kuwait with me. I'll look, as I really don't want to duplicate spells, especially if another product already covered em!
Cheers,
Jaye
EDIT: Var, yeah, I do have the book on .pdf. I didn't realize there was an Expeditious Retreat, Swift (possibly cause I haven't picked up any of the Complete books in a while). I generally check spells against the Spell Compendium, but I suppose I missed it this time. For what it's worth, I think the spells are dissimilar enough not to worry (WoTC's version is level 1, swift, and lasts one round at +30). Mine is lvl 0, standard action to cast, and only increases movement by 10 for 1 round +1/lvl. |

| Good point. How about giving yours a duration of 1 round/level then? (On the theme of "0 level spells that don't suck"?) |

Var, I probably will make it 1 round/level.
I've been waiting to see the release of the PFRPG (that's the system we'll be playing in Kuwait from now on) to see just how, no speculation needed, they handle cantrips and orisons. I'm assuming that they will be prepared spell-like abilities, cast at will, as in the Beta and Alpha, but I wanted to be sure.
My next major changes to all GSS (and why I haven't released more) is in line with the waiting period for PF! Once Gen Con is over (and I'm back in Kuwait), I'll get to work. It'll be a busy fall for me, that's for sure!!
I've actually been thinking about putting a small group together to look at spells and Feats for balance. I know when Wolfgang put mine up on LJ for the Gazetteer, the feedback I got was golden. That sort of feedback is always welcome!
Cheers,
Jaye |
