| No. Open Design should concentrate on humbler fare with a wider audience. |

I think there will be a section on Calendars and Cosmology, but it's probably going to be very short indeed. This is mostly about the mortal world and nations, which will devour space at a furious pace.
Great to have you aboard! _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I'm joining my first OD patronage with Midgard too....but I'm still chomping at the bits like Pat is concerning a planar one. *chomp* *chomp* |

I have to say, I'd very much enjoy a product like this...so much so that I hope it ISN'T started...until Midgard is being wrapped up.
I say that for 2 reasons.
1. I really want to invest my time into midgard, and would feel really torn trying to give both projects my full attention.
2. The outer planes of Midgard could be a fun project to both set adventures in and develop a gazetter. It may be easier to do this after the Midgard book is available as a sourcebook.
So I'm still gung ho on this, but I'd love to see it held off on as well. |

Well, FWIW, there will be a page or two about the Midgard planes in the campaign setting, but ... I agree that this sort of book requires attention of its own.
It's one of several options for the Midgard follow-up books. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

| I did notice a passing reference to 'Eleven Hells' in the Infernal Gnome write up recently posted. Interesting pick for a number .... |

| Thought I'd just stop by and bump to see how the mood is for a planar project over this way ... =D |

Your timing is not bad. I'll have some news about a Summer patron project next week, probably Monday. Or check the Courier. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Uh oh.
We're not supposed to discuss any of this, Lord Snorkus, but I hate the thought of being misleading or building false expectations.
Senior Patrons are voting on two (out of a total of 10) new summer projects. I guess we're hinting that this is one of the proposals. .
The reason I'm advising caution is that there are a lot of really great pitches, and the vote tally's are not visible right now. So I have no idea if this will make it or not. It's a great pitch though, and two of them will be chosen.
So cross your fingers. I really can say no more. The voting closes tomorrow.
My apologies to Wolfgang for feeding this discussion further. I fall silent now. _________________ Jim Groves

| Hey it's all good Watcher. I haven't been disappointed with a patronage project yet. Even if my fave isn't picked *snif* I'm sure I will sign up for the next project anyway. Maybe not at top level, but you know how it goes... |

| No idea what type of Planar book is planned, but it would be great to see a planar adventure set in one particular plane and see that one plane fleshed out all the way. IMO, this would have the possibility to do some new things and set up some new encounters instead of the usual stuff done over and over again. |

Have you seen Coliseum Morpheoun from Rite Publishing (with authors you may have heard of like Clinton J. Boomer and Jonathan McAnulty)? It does exactly that with the plane of dreams. And is the best high level adventure I've ever run.
I would love it if OD did that style of project. _________________ -Jesse Butler

| Yeah a big +1 on Coliseum. Rite is also coming out with a lot of nice planar NPCs to support it to. Well worth it. Although I am sure the busy kobolds over here could come out with some really kick-taill planar stuff as well =D |

| I've definitely heard a lot of good things about Coliseum and followed some of the interviews leading up to its release. My only problem with it is that it is a high level adventure. Maybe I'll get it as soon as all my players have their character sheets on their iPads... |
