Now, while I’m here anyway, I am ecstatic to announce the winner of Open Design’s first ever King of the Monsters contest: Adam Daigle’s spark. Congratulations Adam! The public has chosen your monster. (I’m watching you sparky.) …
This little guy (the spark, not Adam) will be done up right with an illustration and all (if the kobold’s can get the pictomathingy machine working) in time for publication in Kobold Quarterly #13. There, it can strut its stuff in front of the full readership and… potentially possess everyone. (Wolfgang! Are we sure we thought this through?)
Great work Adam! You did a great job raising your little guy. You were up against incredible competition, and you came out on top. You should be very proud.
As should everyone in the final 10. You were all contenders and all worthy. Thanks to everyone that entered the contest and everyone that voted.
Now, this contest was so much fun and went so well that you can bet we’ll hold it again—the real question is when. Just how long can Adam and his spark hold there title? Only time will tell.

I for one welcome our new electrical overlord!
Not to take away from any of the other contestants by so much as an iota — ALL of the entries were exceptional — but congratulations, Adam! Well done indeed.
Congrats, Adam, that whole “possess the other contenders and make them vote for you” strategy was BRILLIANT!
We’ll hustle right along to edit, illustrate, and prep the Spark for print.

Thank you all so much! Wolfgang, Scott, and Jeff for judging. All of my fellow competitors for submitting kick ass monsters. Everyone who voted (not only for me), commented, and took part in this process. You all rock!
The crown is beautiful and the bouquet is gorgeous! I will wear it with pride, and look forward to handing it off to future Kings (or Queens) when the inevitable time comes that I am kicked from my throne.

Congratz Adam and I must give some cheers to Crystal too…that’s a heckofamontser too!
Crystal had an awesome critter, but last night we swore an oath to become each other’s nemesis. Since we’re both not billionaires, sadly unmotivated towards total destruction, and otherwise civil people, we agreed to thwart one another through other means such as extended glaring, showing up to one another’s parties uninvited, and not RSVP-ing to announced events. I think there was something about if we ever were driving near one another, we should avoid using our blinkers, and only change lanes if we intend on going a full 5 or 10 miles an hour slower.

Mike, we’re very happy with the Adopt-A-Soldier contest and the King of the Monsters, and I think it’s safe to say we’ll be doing more.
