A true Father of the game that indeed received at times less public recognition for his contribution, but who is still loved and cared for as is shown in this and other tributes. May the spirit he had for the game continue to live forever and his name be sung rightfully and accordingly.

Thanks Dave

Indeed, Mr. Arneson was the unsung hero of the hobby, a thoughtful and creative man, and the gaming world is a measure emptier for his passing. Thanks, Dave, you gave us all a gift we cannot possibly repay.

A beautiful peace there, thank you for sharing it. With both Misters Gygax and Arneson now rolling characters for 'The Great RPG In The Sky', our hobby is likely to change; even if just in small ways.

I find it a tragic shame, that for all of his titanic impact on the hobby, mister Arneson received so little recognition. I think it is safe to say that Arneson's, rather than Gygax's, view of a good campaign is close to my heart.

May both of them always be remembered.

This was a wonderful glimpse into the world of David Arneson. When I thought of D&D's origins, I had always thought of Gygax, but having read more on Arneson, I would say that my own beliefs as a gamer are more closely aligned with his.

Rest in Peace Arneson & Gygax - your influence on all types of gaming is paramount.
