King of the Monsters 2, Winner Crowned!
First off, please excuse the eye patch. I don’t remember what happened last night, but I seem to have had a bit of an accident… and my head is absolutely throbbing. Too much partying I guess, am I right? (I always seem to have the worst luck at these events.) Anyway, I’m super excited to be the one presenting your new overlord!
And without further ado, I give you the publicly chosen champion of King of the Monsters 2, the Monster King of the Kobolds, Jobe Bittman’s horakh!
As I seem to be the only one that can understand it—for whatever strange reason—I’ll be acting as translator. The horakh would like to thank the other contestants… who “should be hatching right about now”? Sorry, I’m not sure what that means. Different cultures, so something lost in translation, I’m sure.
The horakh would also like to thank all of the voters. It assures me that, in an effort to get closer to you all, it will be establishing a new tradition of one-on-one discussions “to really get inside your brains.” How better to understand your subjects, I guess, right? It will meet with each of you in turn—whether you voted for it or not, even those who didn’t vote—beginning tomorrow. And don’t worry, it says; it knows where you live…
This little guy (the horakh, not Jobe) will be done up right with an illustration and all (if the kobolds can get the pictomathingy machine working) in time for publication in Kobold Quarterly #15. There, it can strut its stuff in front of the full readership—really get itself out there in front the entire world’s eyeballs.
Great work Jobe! You did a great job raising your little guy. You were up against incredible competition, and you came out on top. You should be very proud.
As should everyone in the final 10! You were all contenders and all worthy. Thanks to everyone who entered the contest and everyone who voted.
This contest was so much fun! I hope to see you all at the next one!
Please, take a moment to congratulate Jobe for such his evocative and eye-popping creation. Let us know that you enjoyed the contest and would like to see it again — and what we might improve.
