The other one goes by "Watcher" on the boards and has been around a while, setting fires and making life interesting. I've rather taken a liking to the cut of his jib, but two Lokis?
I may require medication. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

By the way, Clueless and I were wondering what we would have to do to have Planewalker sponsor this tome? Not sure how that would work but please let me know.
Thanks! |

Not sure how that would shake out since we are officially sanctioned for an IP owned by Wizards, especially since this is primarily compatible with their competition.
Still, if it can be done ethically (total faith in you guys on that front btw) we would love to do so. _________________ -Loki

Hm.... I like the idea, and I agree it would need to avoid being seen as a WotC endorsement (easy enough, I think).
I guess I'm not entirely sure how to proceed. Planewalker's sponsorship would be great, and I think the audience matchup is right. Open Design just hasn't done one like this before; our last partnerships have been with Green Ronin and Paizo, which are more peer-to-peer publishing relationships.
Let's debate some details in email. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I'm really on the fence about becoming a patron. On the one hand, I'm entirely down for planar material that I can actually be a part of designing, and I'm very eager to see the patronage in action, not to mention the designers, however I am an exclusively 4e DM, and despite the very usable fluff the idea of paying so much for a secondary mechanics supplement has me wary.
Will the secondary supplement offer comparable 4e material for everything in this PF book, or will it be decidedly less? |

This is tempting. However, I'm already working on three other projects, and I have to do my day job. Dilemma! _________________ Rory Toma

In cases like this, it's always tough to know what to advise. The less 4E people who sign up, the less material is generated for that system. It becomes self-fulfilling at a certain point. Right now, it's clear that the setting material is primary for a lot of people, and mechanics secondary. But...
I'll wait for Dan Voyce to weigh in. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Basically, the honest answer is that we can't promise a specific level of support for 4e right now (that's the bad news). However, the good news is that the aim -- and it seems to be shared by quite a number of patrons -- is to convert or create as much 4e material as possible based on the setting material.
Going by our forum poll, about 25% of our numbers are 4e supporters, which is a significant portion (and that doesn't includes people who may have voted for PF but also play 4e and can/will help). That's a pretty encouraging number.
Ultimately, I think that what you're going to get mechanically will depend on to two things:
1. We are going to hit greenlight very shortly. This means the more people who sign up on top of that minimum, the bigger budget we have to play with when it comes to possible conversions/alternate books...
2. (and possibly most important) How much work the 4e experts on board are prepared to do. I don't think it will be a problem, but more is always going to help: "Many hands make light work" as the saying goes!
Of course, setting material and campaign advice will work for everyone (huzzah!) and personally, I'd love to get enough support for their to be two full books.
Anyone has any questions, just shout. _________________ Level 1 Freelancer.
