I'm interested in going Senior Patron if it is 3e and Basic Patron if it goes 4e. (I just don't know enough about 4e to pitch)
What is the best way to accomplish this? My guess is to sign up as Senior Patron for 3e and then get a refund if it goes 4e....then buying Basic Membership. |
Yep, signing up as a senior patron for 3e improves the odds that 3E wins the commission. And if it doesn't you can certainly go basic for 4e. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Is that the best way, or is there some better way to accomplish this? |
I'll probably do this, just in reverse so I'm interested if there is a better way. |

No special trick to it; I'll just note your preference in the commission log.
One advantage of a small group is that it is possible to customize and make exceptions and tweak things to suit. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Skewing toward OGL/3rd Edition at the moment, which is a surprise to me. 4th Edition will need some major donors (or a number of smaller ones) to catch up. I suspect that will happen if the ENWorld 4E messages get some traction, or ... maybe not.
I confess, I thought it was going to tilt the other way. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Well the news has been spread far and wide so hopefully we'll see some more people from both editions coming forward .
I must confess my geek side is rapidly becoming over excited, I do love the premise for this. Which I think I keep saying . |

I'd previously done announcements at:
Enworld, Paizo, Gleemax, Necromancer and Goodman...where'd you post?

Pretty much the above +RPG.Net
I wasn't being very observant obviously. Still better twice than not at all. |

Yeah, I had there, too. I forgot.
Ok, cool. Glad I didn't miss anything obvious.
thanks!

Actually just looked and realised I'm not a complete idiot, I did spot a few of your posts (Necro boards and such) and just bump them.
Phew was worried I was seeing the early onset of dementia. |

If you tell me where, I can add it to my list of notifications and make sure that there's always a post for projects and such.

Cool, thanks!
The 3E/OGL lead widened quite a bit this weekend. I'm curious to see whether that holds up during the work week.
I'm still trying to figure out whether 4E's lack of traction means anything. As in, are my friends at WotC happy that they are taking all the 4E purchases, or sad because the 4E crowd is smaller than they let on? I really don't know. _________________ Wolfgang Baur
