... and back to the maps
There are unlabelled versions of the map around. I'll talk to Wolfgang about putting them somewhere people can get to them. The resolution is what was required for the image size in the text. This will give a variable resolution if you want to print 1 grid=1 inch. That's usually around 70dpi which is pretty low quality wise for a large print for use with miniatures. However if you want to print them out for player handouts, I'd guess 100dpi or 150dpi should get you something usable. |
Cheers, that would be really useful if it can be managed
Ran the eelhound encounter tonight, which proved fast and furious. Things looked sticky initially in the first rush of massed hounds, the leader's eel frenzy dazed most of the party and there was a painful couple of following rounds, but the rogue's daily blinding barrage and the dragonborn's breath quickly willowed down the numbers and the ranger then took out 4 more with twin strike and an action point. Then it was just a matter of getting the pack leader before he fled. A good solid quick encounter, with the added frisson of danger of going back into the river which they really really did not want to do again, especially as they had previously reached land only a little above the waterfall.
Details I noticed when running/preparing it.
The muddy bank required acrobatics or athletics to move in - I think this should only be acrobatics. The eelspit power also makes a slippy area, this time the area is difficult terrain and requires an acrobatics roll. Also the DCs for the two simliar terrain types are only marginally different (14 and 15). Two areas of very similiar slippy terrain in the same encounter should probably require the same sort of rolls and consequences or be described differently. Incidentally I missed the ability of the eelhounds to slide a character 1 square if they were in the mud, which was in the text of the terrain notes.
The tactics section suggests the pack leader can recharge the baying (eel frenzy) power, bu the stat block gives no recharge. I assumed the stat block took precedence, though in truth the fight probably did not last long enough for recharge to be a big worry! |

Those would be much appreciated. Thank you sir. |

I've talked to Wolfgang and it looks like he will distribute the zip directly to patrons rather than have all of the maps out here on the web for all to see. In the meantime, a few of the maps without labels are available on my portfolio:

If there are any that you urgently need without labels for an upcoming game, please send me a pm with an email address and I will get them to you. |

Ishtarre, those are really good comments. Thanks. We missed the recharge thing in the notes at some point in a draft. (The joys of trying to shoehorn everything into Delve format.) Apologies for that but as you showed it apparently wasn't necessary. I found the eelhounds to be a really cool foe to face when Wolfgang ran this at Gen Con.
Mr Roberts, the other art in your gallery is also excellent! Even though I've seen some before in other places, you continue to impress. Makes me want to run some adventures using the St. George's Island and Shipwreck pieces - along with the wintery cliff! |

| Thanks very much - I'm glad you like them. St George's is a real place of the coast of Devon (I believe). It was commissioned by someone for their home Cthulhu game - my first pro job actually. The others you mentioned are for my game - no surprises that they involve a deserted mine. Yes, there were goblins and my players got taken to pieces by them shifting around in all those 5' wide corridors. I had a lot of fun with the new 4e rules in that adventure. |

| Fantastic maps, the unlabelled ones look just the ticket. Thank you. The other maps in your gallery are also great for inspiration especially the various island and coastal ones. |

Thanks very much. You might well be seeing more of my stuff on future projects... I'm glad you all like them.
All of the maps there have the license details with the map - so you are free to download and use most of them in your home game. If you're unsure, pm me and I'll clarify any questions. |

Hi Ishtarre,
Are you still running Wrath? If so, would be good to hear your thoughts as the adventure progresses. I'm due to start it in the next 2-3 weeks.
Cheers

| I ran the Green Knight Inn encounter last weekend and had a lot of fun. The satyr's did a great job when flanking people and the bear drew the party's fire. The party decided to send the fighters into the Inn and keep the softer ranged party members outside. This worked until the satyr's jumped out the windows and held the door closed and the bear feystepped outside. I ruled that it was a single move to move 5' through a window and a difficult bull rush to shove the satyr aside and open the door. That made the party very nervous and made for a good half time twist to keep the fight interesting. |

Did you start the adventure off with them arriving at the inn with this going on? I was thinking of using the hunting bugbears en route to Riverbend.
Cheers

| I actually lifted the encounter wholesale for my homebrew campaign so didn't incorporate it with the others. |
