I agree that it's a shame that not all designers stick around after the turnover to write essays or answer questions, but it's certainly not a requirement. Some hate writing essays about their approach. Others love it. I know Brandon and I will both be offering more essays as Midgard gets past the first couple regions.
For 4E pitches, yes, the senior patrons of Lost City will see the pitches for what's next. I suspect the falloff in WotC releases may mean good things for the next 4E Open Design project. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

It's because you set the bar high in the first place and wrote all those essays during Empire et al!
Looking forward to seeing Lost City and reviewing the pitches for the next 4e project.

Whatever happened to talks of a planar project?
Or do we need to find a champion for it? |
Yeah, that's one I was interested in! |

I got two planar pitches. Neither one seems likely to happen, but I'm open to new pitches on the topic. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I do want to pitch on that. Free time is the issue at the moment. |

Next deadline for pitches from senior patrons is September 1. So there's time. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Good to know! I will endeavor to provide a planar pitch this time. |

Sure, there's these pitches currently in hand:
an adventure anthology for Pathfinder (high-level),
a magic/sourcebook pitch for Pathfinder,
a Midgard setting sourcebook for Pathfinder,
an epic-level adventure for 4E D&D,
a DM sourcebook for 4E D&D, and also
a HERO System PC sourcebook pitch (you heard me!)
I think that's it. If you submitted something and don't recognize it on this list, hit me up in PM or email. |

I think he was waiting for Streets and Lost City to get out the door before starting something new. I would guess that he'll either put out a poll or announce a new project after PaizoCon. Or during. So soon. _________________ -Jesse Butler

a magic/sourcebook pitch for Pathfinder,
Is that an APG or UM type book but done with an Open Design style?
a Midgard setting sourcebook for Pathfinder,
A Pathfinder player's guide (with setting tidbits and player-oriented material like feats, archetypes and prestige classes)? |

I've been assuming the projects will be announced at Paizocon. _________________ -Jonathan McAnulty (kobold freelancer level 1)

Yep, announcing projects shortly after the show. It's a bit of a whirlwind now. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Yep, we're here at Paizocon and it's super busy fun (will upload photos and tales out of school shortly).
Wolfgang did spill that he had received some very strong pitches for projects just in the last few weeks (in addition to the pitches listed above), but hadn't made any final decisions/announcements on what is going out next after the current crop of projects. So if you have that project you are just burning to do, make sure to get it to Wolfgang before he recovers from the fan-induced haze and you may be lucky enough to see it in a patron poll sometime soon - after we head back to the mines for a nap! |
