Your confidence is flattering. I've gotten a chance to nose through it, but not dive in...I'd certainly be willing to work on a conversion, and I think I'd go back to the Empire material if that were the case, because that'd require the least amount of mangling.
As one of the veterans from Halls, I can easily agree with Wolfgang... dual stat is rough. As a project, it basically consumed my January through August and then a bit of September as a snack. I am probably an extreme case, though, given my involvement in the conversion.
Monsters get revised, but so do encounter compositions, cartography, and noncombat aspects-- skill challenges don't have an analog for OGL, though I think they can translate well. It may sound odd, but having done it now, I'd think converting from 4E to OGL/PRPG would probably be easier. In the end, you have a similar series of events, but yeah, there's a different animal in that hide.
All that said, sure, a PRPG conversion is something I'd be willing to do.

How about this?
For the next Zobeck gazetteer, system neutral fluff. (Obviously.)
And maybe suggestions on how to carry the material between both systems WITH some systems-specific or dual stats.
So not a full dual-stat project per se...
Just throwing this out there. Maybe it'll spark some other ideas...
So I will wait right now before (if) I pick this one up... But you make it very tempting, especially since I already have most of the stuff from Empire of the Ghouls in 3E. And I love the Zobeck setting so far...
Wait and see I guess.
As usual, thank you for the reply!

I know this flies in the face of the trends of late of including the stats for every monster in every encounter they occur in, etc...
But how about a book that is system neutral with "statblocks" that read "see appendix".
Then, you put appendices in the back as appropriate. all you need to change is the last few pages of the book... much easier, is it not? than going through and having to do a complete new layout, etc. Or if the legal guys allow it (I doubt they will) put two appendices in the back, one 3.5E/PF and the other 4E. Or what ever.
This can't be any worse an option than right now, when I am reading through the Tales of Zobeck adventures I have entries such as:
"Spider Swarm CR1; hp 9; MM 239"
Now, I know that there are a LOT of things in the text/non-statblock portions, DC's needed, trap descriptions, etc... that don't easily fill this format.
But I find it hard the believe that a bunch of clever kobolds at Open Design can't overcome this problem.
People are laying their money on the table and only some of it is being picked up... maybe you need more kobolds? |

You can never have too many kobolds.
And yes, we're always looking for ways to keep the many types of gamers happy. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Woohoo! Its great - cheers for the conversion everybody!
Nice to see that Urzana didn't worm her way back into the Prince's good graces. Where can she be hiding...? |

Yep, the Urzana Easter Egg was something I especially liked: vampire countess on the run!
Because really, you don't want to cross the prince.... _________________ Wolfgang Baur
