So far I am loving it.
One question though: Can someone explain what the deal is with the duality of the Margreve forest? |

Er, not sure I understand the question. But I'll take a stab at it....
The Margreve was the ancestral home of the Shadow Fey, before they pledged themselves to the Queen of Night and Magic.
So, they have close connections to it. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

OK, I'll try to clarify. On page 28 is a map that shows the Margreve forest. Does that mean the Margreve forest exists in Midgard and the Shadow Realm? Is that the same Margreve forest? What does that mean?
And speaking of the map: Is the Palace of the Queen the Shadow Courts? |

Yes, the Margreve exists both in the mortal world and the Shadow Realm.
And yes, the Palace of the Queen is also the Courts. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

I'm wondering what happened to the handouts. We seem to be missing two at least based on what I've read so far.
There is a mention of these being available on the KQ website.
Cheers

My PDF is having an issue when I try and print the contents page. It also does something weird with the page numbering in that it is only identified if included in a range.
Anyone else having these printing issues? |

Thank you very much!
'Courts' is awesome. I really like the rank system and the invisible courts section, but the atmosphere thoughout is simply amazing; you have created a very unique mixture of dark, bizarre, creepy and fairy tale elements! Congratulations!
One small point: The sidebars are sometimes not optimally placed (in the sense that they sometimes seem to belong to a different part of the text not where they are placed).
PS: What about reference and fonts mistakes? Should we note and mail them to you? |

They will be available and they do look good so far! However, as invariably happens, I've overbooked myself leading up to GenCon and they aren't quite posted yet.
Should have the handout PDF available.... Er, .... Dammit, soon. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Glad you like it, Irian! Regarding sidebar placement, references, and font mistakes, they should all go to me or the editor, and if we get enough we'll do an errata version of the file. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

Hi Wolfgang,
Hope GenCon was fun! Here’s some errata for Courts – all quite minor. More to follow if I find any. Really enjoying reading the adventure!
p.8 2nd column, Tactics – should be rakes not rake’s & then rakes’ not rake’s. The text talks of the rakes letting their blades go insubstantial with shadow slip strike. What does this mean?
p.10 Handout 1 is missing
p.11 Umbral Void, Overcome by the Dark – should be 4d10+6 dmg
p.17 Critical Success – what’s a critical success?
p.43 Bottom right, Note – should be “the prince’s hunting lodge”
p.43 Vandalism – should be a separate heading?
p.44 Sidebar is meant to be below but is actually above on previous page
p;.52 Lesser Courts - should be Lower Courts
p.54 fey #80 is missing – it says "of nightsoil" against this number which belongs to #79 Yllohbur
p.59 right top --should be better not betters
p.61 sidebar precedes the references to the wines in the text which is a bit confusing
p.63 “The flying swan drops tiny crowns to favored diners, which show the queen’s current Status: +1 bonus to Status to PCs who move quickly; the crowns have a Reflex 24 defense, and every diner wants one to land on their head.” What does this mean? Do the PCs need to attack in some way to get one to land on their head
p.65 Should be Arcana rather than Arcanea (x2)
Cheers

Mini-review posted on my LJ and on DTRPG. I've also mentioned Lost City!
Did you get the second errata email?
Cheers

Everything about the description sounds wicked! But I'm trying to picture meshing it with my existing campaign.
Could there be some more clarity on where this is set?
The "Courts of the Shadow Fey" and "Plane of Shadow" is confusing me -- did I miss a section in the 4E cosmology (easily done, I've only skimmed Manual of the Planes as my party just got to level ? |

This would fit neatly into the Shadowfell, or equivalent planes in homegrown settings. _________________ Wolfgang Baur

| Wolfgang, you've said that articles in the magazine that aren't properly seperated (the title included as part of the article, text mashed up in a long line) isn't always an editing issue, sometimes it's a layout one. You used a specific term that I can't remember. You mentioned that I might be able to help, I've been meaning get back to you on this. How might I do so? |
